The one concern I have on Lesnar is can he control himself against Nog for the full 5 rounds?

I am certain that he can take Nog down or hurt him with punches but he needs to not go batshit crazy and get himself into trouble with his positioning. Because if he does Nog will catch him.

Hughes did it in training apparently.

One huge piece of sub deffence Brock has is the ability to keep the fight standing. I think that's the one he'll use to beat Nog.

yeh, a RNC on lesnar is very possible i think....however, a triangle i believe is impossible given Lesnar's MASSIVE torso and arms

Considering we see black belts get tapped all the time, i think its reasonable to say that Brock will be at SIGNIFICANT risk of being submitted by either Mir or Nog. To say otherwise is pure speculation and nearly completely baseless. He's only fought one submission fighter, and he was submitted in short order.

Until i actually see an escape, I'm going with "at significant risk".

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

I forsure have Nog as a favourite, however I dont like some of the peeps on hear talking about Nog "ripping his arm off" or "raping him".

Lesnar is goin to improve a ton by the time he has to fight Nog or Mir and he is essentially goin to be training for the same thing no matter who wins....submission defence.

I just dont like the talk that Lesnar will be defeated easily thats all.

Agreed, fully. When Lesnar smells blood, he gets wild. All 3 of his fights in the UFC he has done it. If I was Nog or making hsi gameplan, I would sucker him in take a few of those donkey kong punches and grab an arm.

I'm hoping, as a Brock fan, that Lesnar learnt his lesson against Mir and wasn't that worried about Herring or Randy's sub skills.

Anybody who thinks lesnar can actually roll with Nogueira is completly missing the point of what some are saying here.

Perfect example of what 'we'(me and a few others i guess) are saying : Mirko Cro Cop.

He is a K-1 Fighter, who came in MMA with virtually no background in grappling. He fought sakuraba, herring, Nogueira himself, and except against Nogueira, he was able to do just ok to get out of any messy situation.

Stay in guard, sit straight up. You can be against the best grappler in the world, if you dont have your opponent close enough to make him move in any way or control his body, you are not transitioning or putting on a submission.

Eventually, against Nogueira, Cro Cop was taken down and armbarred in such a Nogueira way, but the point is that Cro Cop lasted 10 minutes against Nogueira, not going to the ground or in dangerous position.

Can Brock do the same? like Damone pointed out, he is improving at a scary pace. He cant roll with Nogueira, but he can learn to know what he has to avoid and how to get out of messy situation.

Will he win? thats a hard question, i personally think its an equal matchup, Brock has a lot of advantages over Nogueira but he also has big flaws or unknown factors that will be tested.

But i dont see where you get that idea that 'most' people think Lesnar can learn submission defense to everything and roll with nogueira..

Bring back knees strikes on grounded opponents.. Give me good arguments for not having them for crying out loud.

can brock use his wrestling right against nog or mir. brock seems like he wants to put everyone on their back and gNp them. i dont think thats a good idea against nog or mir as the both are very comfortable of their backs.

if brock utilizes hendos gameplan he used against palharres i think brock could have sucess against nog/mir. but wrestlers always seem to go to their wrestling o matter what. look at kos vs sanchez, kos was winning the first standing then he shot in and took diego down. withing 20 seconds diego swept him and took his back.

i personally think brock should keep it standing, but i dont think he will.

mir 1st round sub
nog 2nd round sub
