Shawn Tompkins: "Junie is already like a son to me"

Shawn Tompkins gives an update on Wanderlei Silva, Junie Browning, Randy Couture and more**

On Couture's figth with Lesnar******

"I think we handled the fight pretty well** Randy was winning the fight up until he got caught** I think it would’ve been a different fight if Brock didn’t grab the cage those couple of times there when Randy was going for slams** But this is MMA and things happen**"

On Wanderlei Silva's training for Rampage******

"He came up and started real early for this fight** He looks great** He’s real healthy right now and Wanderlei just keeps getting better and better** Fortunately, he’s had the opportunity to work with Demian Maia for his Jiu Jitsu because Maia was getting ready for his fight**"

On Kimbo Slice******

"I really think that maybe this is a good thing for him** Nobody likes a loss and Kimbo is a very good friend of mine, but at the same time, I think this gives him a chance to…people won’t look at him as hard and this gives him a chance to breathe a little bit** He’s going to actually have some time to improve his ******"

On Junie Browning******

"One of the big stories out there right now is the fact that I moved Junie Browning into my house about a month and a half ago** I’ve kind of taken him under my wing and kept an eye on his training, career and his (laughs) social life I guess** I see big things from this kid and he’s young; he’s only 21** I think he just needed the right people to surround him and he’s doing a great job** I’m real proud of him**"

"He’s already like a son to me** He’s going to make big waves**"

how was hell was randy winning the fight until then? shawn stfu** randy got his ass donkey kong'd ******don't blame it on the cage grabbing

i'm not going to lie, i hate shawn tompkins** i think xtreme couture needs to get rid of him and get some better striking coaches** Sam Stout was basically raised as a fighter by Shawn, and look where he is********his striking is really the only "good" aspect of his ****, and it's not that good at all******very technical, but it doesn't work well in mma**

Shawn Tompkins IMO is one of the best striking coaches in MMA**

Now I disagree with a lot of things he says but he's obviously biased I mean Team Quest guys still think the only reason Fedor beat Lindland was because he grapped the rope**

Hopefully he can help Junie turn around**

i think shawn should stick to teaching muay thai fighters, and not mma striking********how does a man with an mma record like this have any credibility at all for mma striking

I've never seen any of his fights so IDK if he got takendown and pounded out however to be fair just because you don't do well in your own fights doesn't mean you can't teach others**

Gurgel's BJJ in fighting doesn't always look great but he has taught guys very well**
