Will Matt Hughes one day be in Royce's shoes?

I remember back in 1993, just blown away that this little guy named Royce (pronounced hoyce ..lol) could beat these behemoths ... We saw that Royce fell behind the times to a more advanced version fighter ... question is ... Is there anymore improvement in martial arts expected, or has the knowledge of fighting techniques reached the maximum, with the deciding factor just being how well the athlete implements it? Are there any other fighting styles that haven't had their moment in the sun yet????

Royce Gracie didn't fall behind the new kind of fighter, he fell behind the new rules. I garentee he would beat Hughes in a no time limit, no holds barred.

Man you're kidding ... he got completely dominated .. you have to admit Atom, even in the old days you rarely if ever saw him beaten around like that

one thing I have not seen too much of is Judo. there have been alot of wrestlers in the ufc but few judo masters. there have been a few but when they do come in the dominate. but I think matt is too smart to let himself fall behind like that. He is not as arogant as Royce.

you took the words right out of my mouth, I was thinking the way Karo Parisyan throws opponents around, you might see more of that. I think a lot of fighters emphasize JiuJitsu and Muay Thai but maybe someone will come along and do something totally different that people aren't expecting ... maybe Tae Kwon Do back kicks more effectively, judo throws, there are a lot of styles out there ... I suppose most fighters go with what their strength is

No disrespect but I think Matt is more arrogant than Royce... but I think Team Militech will always be on top of things

Well, Hughes is about to lose his title, if not to GSP than to Penn in the rubbermatch.

Sylvia is going to lose his, if not to Monson then to Vera or AA again.

Rich just got his ass handed to him, Jens Pulver got KOed by a nobody.

Wow, they sure are always going to be on top of things
