Bingo. This is the worst matchup I can think of for Silva.

IMO he still doesn't have KO power, although that knee he hit Tito with did look pretty brutal.
does anyone knock what Machida is like off his back? i.e his guard, i'm yet to see a fight where he's had to pull guard and obviously Silvas best chance is to G'n'P a victory over Machida.

This.
And I don't find Machida fights boring at all. I was on the edge of my seat for the Tito fight.

I hate watching fighters with actual stand-up skill dominate sluggers too. Wait, no I don't.

Watching obese people get it on seems more akin to watching a Kimbo fight. Watching Machida is like watching a sex guru give a lesson.

Machida has only legitamently TKO'd one person in his entire carreer. If you look at his face when he TKO'd rich franklin he was probably the most surprised person that it actually happened...
he's a good striker. But his EFFECTIVE striking isn't even close to being in Thiago's league.

Tito looked pretty ugly after his 3-round "snoozefest" with Machida.
I think his striking is plenty effective. Whenever someone closes the distance, Machida more times than not, punishes them for it.

um...his effective striking is way better than silva's...he doesn't get hit the face by headkicks, and doesn't get into barnstorming brawls with polish guys...
how is machida's effective striking not as good when almost no one has even touched machida's face in the UFC. including knockout superstar, Sokky.

Before the Machida/Ortiz fight Machida said his goal was to knock Tito out. How effective was his striking there?
