I totally agree that Hughes is the best WW of all time right now cuz he has proven himself so many times for such a long period of time. But at the same time, Wilt Chamberlain was once considered the greatest of all time in basketball, then along comes some guy named Michael Jordan. Like GMW said, I think it's a matter of interpretation.

I love to watch Hughes fight and think he's an amazing fighter.
However he gets on my nerves at times which is why I put I don't care.
Hughes has amazing skills though he is the greatest champion in the history of the WW division not the greatest WW but the best champion which is an important point to make.

the way he acts outside the octagon unfortunately makes me think poorly of him, even though hes abilities and what he has achieved inside the octagon is amazing.
if he wasnt such a dick my opinion of him would be different.. haha..

It's just a matter of interepretation really.

I understand your logic, but usually when you use the term "Greatest (insert title here) Ever," you are usually speaking in terms of legacy, longevity of success, and number of successful title defenses, depending on the sport, as most major sports (football, basketball, etc.) rarely have teams win consecutive championships. In the cases of MMA or Boxing, title defenses are a huge factor to consider. As of right now, GSP does not have that legacy. I'm not denying that GSP is more talented than Hughes was in his prime, but unitl GSP has more successful title defenses and legendary fights as Matt Hughes, I will not consider GSP the Greatest Welterweight of all time. Maybe the most talented, but not the greatest at this time.

I loved watching him fight in his prime. His fights with Newton and Trigg were epic. Some of the things he did were a little off. The T-shirt thing was just being ignorant. Some of the things he did on TUF weren't the best, but I didn't think he was a jerk like Shamrock. Also you need to understand that those shows are heavily edited. My sister has a friend who is a writer for a reality show. They go through the tapes and decide how to frame different people on the show. They decide who is going to be the bad guy and make them one.
