Well yeah obviously its just US buy rates because there will deffinetly have been more than 750k viewers watching the UFC event for sure, and millions more worldwide.

750k is a very good figure btw! considering how much boxing has been on and is going to be on before the end of the year and also wrestling events, the economy in recession etc. so those are really good figues! if they had that fight on the next card I would think it would beat just about all records lol as its already huge but then again its between christmas and new year so....

I honestly dont think the economic downturn would actually drop these numbers...

sure, people who never bought before wont start now

but people who cant afford to buy big ticket items now typically will increase their small/feel good item purchases... a ppv event being a relatively small purchase as opposed to that new car.

yeh there are a TON of places showing UFC events now...my campus bar was pretty packed for this event...not as much as it was for UFC 83 w/ GSP, but pretty much every Boston Pizza, Crabby Joes, is full by 10pm w/ people there to eat and watch UFC.

those are all people who might have actually gotten a few friends together and watched it at someone's house if the bars and restaurants weren't showing it. I think the ability to see it for free is killing PPV numbers far more than the economy.

hmmm i'm pretty sure every place has to be licensed by the UFC to show it...i'm not sure how much they pay the UFC, but from what I understand, they get some kind of package that gives them posters to put up (that i end up taking at the end of the night hahaha) to help promote the event....

I'm only talking about PPV numbers here not the profitability.
