Forrest Griffin deserves some respect/ Forrest Griffin Warwagon

Hey everyone,
I decided to make this thread because i feel that Forrest is the most under appreciated champ in the whole of the UFC. While it may not get dissed as much as Brock does, he doesn't get the respect he deserved for his accomplishments and his performances as of the last year of so. This could be due to the fact that Forrest is seen as the TUF 1 season winner and not the LHW champion

Forrest beat the 2 #1 LHW's in the world straight. A lot of people thought that he would get mauled by Shogun, but he ended setting a pace that Shogun couldn't handle (yes shogun had a knee injury, but forrest had a shoulder stfu) and he ultimately finished Shogun, which apart from Coleman's BS win is the 2nd person to do that. Watch that fight again, Forrest's Top game is pretty nice, but his defence on his back and his ability to stand up are awesome

Then we have the Rampage fight, where once again people thought he would get mauled. Forrest showed his awesome striking from the outside incl. his really powerful leg kicks. Then in the 2nd round we got to see how his top game improved as for 5 minutes he kept rampage on his back. After what some people thought was a controversial decision (i didn't think it was i had the scores at 48-46) Forrest became the new LHW champion.

Now he is defending his title for the first time against Rashad Evans, who came off a lucky punch (jks guys, but i am a Chuck fan ) against Chuck Lidell and people are doubting him again. I feel that Forrest's leg kicks will be to much for Rashad as his head movement doesnt help him there, and i also feel that Forrest's bottom game is better defensively then Rashad's Top game

SO ALL ABOARD THE FORREST GRIFFIN WARWAGON (until Lyoto gets his shot....), or show respect to the unrespected

Get me on this wagon!

Forrest's becoming really underrated lately.

In his last two fights tons of people wrote him off and since he won it seems a lo of people are putting it down a gameplan/heart/Shogun gassing/judges blah blah blah, yeah some of those things played a part put people forget that Forrest is a skilled fighter.

He completely neutralized Shogun on the ground (aside from one elbow) and Shogun's easily a top 5 grappler at 205 maybe top 3. He also beat Rampage standing which most people didn't think would happen.

Forrest's got decent standup with really underrated footwork a really good groundgame (especially for avoiding damage on the bottom) and improving wrestling not to mention he's a huge 205er with excellent cardio and I think that's how this fights gonna be decided.

Rashad has never looked at all fresh to me after 3 rounds so that doesn't exactly inspire confidents that he'll come in in shape for 5, especially against someone who pushes the pace like Forrest. Yeah Shogun wasn't in the best shape but Forrest pushed a high pace which IMO is why he looked as bad as he did.

I'm picking Forrest in this one by TKO in the 4th. I think he'll set a pace that Rashad can't keep up with and tire him to the point where Griffin ends up either on top of Rashad or pinned against the fence and makes Rashad quit.

All that is obviously leading up to... WAR FORREST!!!

I have always stood behind Forrest ever since he was on TUF. He has a heart the size of a lion and really became a better fighter because of his loss against Jardine. I even put some money on him against Rampage, I knew it would be a close fight.

I think Forrest gets alot of respect on this board.

And the "why do people hate Rashad?" threads are purely because are rooting for Forrest.

Great thread and long over due. Forrest by far and away has earned his spot in the UFC and I believe he will beat rashaad...however I see a decision win......

Either way Forrest represents all the people sitting at home that want to become Ultimate Fighters......he is the template of success in the UFC and I really hope he beats rashaad.....
