Chuck vs Jardine 2 - what if...

I'm beginning to wonder who the hell Chuck is going to be fighting in coming months...and frankly most of the top 205ers have fights scheduled....except top 10 fighter Keith Jardine....

They've already fought and Jardine leg kicked Chuck's ...um....leg into oblivion to earn a decision.

So how would you feel if this fight was be the co-main event for a ppv? I don't think it has the appeal to headline an event, but I could see it being a strong addition to a card w/ a mediocore main event.

And how do you think this fight would go down?

Goblin smash!

Unless Chuck ups his game, mixes things up a bit and is able to find an answer for Jardines style in the first round, or lands that one big shot I see it going the same way as the first fight.

I'd love Chuck to win, and picked him heavily against Jardine but he just couldn't switch gears to deal with Jardine, and I think again that would be the deciding factor, finding a counter to the Deans style, and Greg Jacksons awesome strats.

P.s Lol at gif, i seriously wtf'd during that fight when that happened.

w/ regards to the .gif, Vera said in a post fight interview that he was basically knocked out at the end of the first round.....had Jardine actually landed a clean strike and not thrown ....f#cking awkward ass windmill fists ...he probably would have finished him....

I think Jardine could beat Chuck if they fought again, but damn, Jardine hasn't looked good lately....then again Chuck has done much good either...it's a weird fight to make happen but like I said I just dunno who Chuck thinks he gonna fight....

**** that, it's not about winning the fight, it's about dancing for the Goblin Gods. Great gif btw.

And Aaronyman, I think your theory is very plausible.. Chuck said he won't be fighting until May, so we'll just have to wait a month or more before we find out if a rematch is scheduled.

i thought when they when asked about the potential couture fight, chuck said he didn't want to wait that long and was gonna be fighting by march...

My bad, just re-watched the interview, he said March/April, not May lol. Damn his raspy-ass voice.

Chuck lost against Jardine not long ago and just got ktfo by his training partner... A second fight against Keith would probably be another loss and IMO, worse than a decision loss this time. Also, Chuck/Jardine 2 wouldn't sell much, so I really don't see it happening.

Chuck's still a big name in the sport but has only a few fights left in his career. It would make sense for the UFC to have him fight other big names, in order to make the most money out of him while he's still fighting. Problem is right now most of the top 5/10 LHWs would just go through him IMO. When I think about it Chuck must be a big headache for the UFC management right now, they have to figure out which other "big name" in the division would be the best match up for him, and the timing as well: most of the top 205ers are fighting by end of Dec./January and Chuck wants to fight by March (A. Silva would be perfect for February/March but we all know why it's not gonna happen). Not counting the fact that Chuck's way overpaid, 500 grand only to show up are you kidding me? Who else gets paid that much in the UFC? I'm aware salaries are purely based on how much you can bring in PPVs but with 3 losses in his last 4 fights, will Chuck be selling as much as he used to? I doubt it but anyway.

As to Jardine, eventhough he didn't look great against Vera, I'd like to see him fight another top 10 contender, Rampage if he looses to Silva or Griffin if he looses to Rashad (I'd pay to watch him fight Forrest again). But please no more Silva/Jardine, that **** choke gave me nightmares for days...

i really want to jardine to fight silva again, cuz i truly believe he can beat him if he employs the right gameplan, which is to take wanderlei down....he gave us a sneek peak against vera of what he's capable of on the ground...he can avoid sub's and get some nice GnP...in fact, in his fights against Wilson and Forrest he was on top of them at one point and unleashed bombs on their faces....

Xerxes, I think Chuck vs. Jardine 2 on it's own wouldn't do well...but as a co-main event could turn a good card like GSP vs. Alves or Brock vs. Nog into a supercard pretty easily...

The one thing cjuck has always wanted to do is avenge losses,i thought he looked a bit desperate against rampage when trying to do it,and i would fear for him here,he wants to win and make things even that much that he tries maybe too hard.Jardine has nothing to lose here,he was there as cannon fodder in the first fight, people would expect chuck to come out and avenge the loss,if keith wins, then he's shocked everyone again, worst case scenario,he loses,so what, they go to a decider,or if not,he is 1-1 with one of the best ever.

As for chuck's salary,it will be that way til he hangs his gloves up,he was and is THE face still in most casual fans eyes,i,for one, don't begrudge him one dollar he's earned,he picked the UFC off it's arse,he was the marketable guy when they needed one.And he does still have fights in him,i always tune in,no matter who he's fighting, cos you know anything could happen with chuck.

A full focused and smart Chuck would beat Jardine. If his trainers could get him to actually work a good gameplan and follow and keep his goddamn hands up, he'd win. But as we've seen for the past while......
