Miguel Torres: "I would like to bang with Bowles; I think I can knock him out"
Miguel Torres had an online chat with fans and answered a bunch of their questios.
Quote:
On his future plans...
"I think my next fight is going to be against Brian Bowles. I think he's the #1 contender right now."
"Jeff Curran is talking a lot of smack, but if Bowles wants it, it will be him.
"Curran is trying to get an easy title shot."
"Bowles is a great competitor that can strike and grapple very well. My Jiu Jitsu is better and I would like to bang with Bowles because I think I could knock him out."
On a fight with Kid...
"I have to fight him. He's considered one of the best and I have to fight the best. I know I'll have a lot of reach on him and I would use that and if he took me down, I would use my BJJ."
"They say he's one of the best GnPer's, but people are always trying to GnP me and it don't work."
|
He talks more about Bowles, Curran, Faber and a bunch of other stuff in the full transcript:

Kid vs Torres would be amazing.
I think Kid would probably lose to be honest. Torres would probably submit him or jab him to death.

I don't doubt Miguels ability to stand and bang with anybody.

Curran and Faber are both FW fighters, so I don't understand this thread too much. On the other hand, I think Bowles is the #1 contender right now at BW, should make for a decent match against Torres.

I am really glad to see him talking about a fight with Bowles b/c he has certainly earned it imo.
I dont like all the talk of "super-fights" between divisions like Torres/Faber as I think it is WAY to early for that stuff. Both divisions are just now getting exposure and they need to be built up. Long-term I think it would be a bad idea at this point.

I love me some Torres and Faber. Those are two badasses, barring whoever they lose to. I'd pay to watch a 70 year old Torres fight a 70 year old Faber; repeatedly.
