That would be like charging an offensive lineman for holding.

Ya, but there are no warnings in football. If you warn the O-line 5 plays in a row not to face mask and he does it the 6th play......fine him.

mountain out of a mole hill. wiman was about to have his neck popped off and he might not have even been thinking clearly. if he was biting or eye gouging sure, but all he did was attempt a wedgie.

In situations like that, a point deduction is all that is called for. I honestly believe he did more to hurt his own credibility and fan favor than anything.

It's very possible that if he had not been gaining leverage by pulling on the shorts, that he would have been choked out. It's no different than grabbing the cage to avoid a take down. There should be a point deduction, but a fine? Rediculous. A point should have been deducted as soon as the submission was released, but I figured Wiman didn't care, it's better than being finished right there.

If Wiman had been biting or eye poking or something then fine his ass, but grabbing shorts? Minor.

its very obvious imo that when he grabbed the shorts for so long an intensivly even tho the judge litterally tried to rip his hand free that he would have tapped. in a perfect world he would have been DQ since the foul imo was the only thing stopping him from tapping

I was under the impression that grabbing miller's shorts wasn't so much stopping him from being choked out but simply wiman trying to deliberately recieve a point deduction/penalty; which would result in the referee seperating them in order to give the deduction or whatnot.

please, correct me if i have the wrong idea?
