Did Josh Koscheck earn you as a fan too?

- He took the fight against #1 WW contender Thiago Alves on a 2 weeks notice.
- was training for a totally different fighter, took a beating but showed a great heart and determination by going to decision and put on a good show for the fans.
- ktfo Yoshida in the 1st round in a very impressive fashion, you don't get to see lots of these "put to sleep" KOs at WW.
- seems to be working very hard to build his way to the top, great work ethic.
- matured as a fighter and more and more classy towards his opponents, before and after the fight.

Koscheck's the man, he definitely became my 2nd favorite fighter @ WW (after my boy GSP) and I'm really looking forward to seeing him fight in the Octagon again. Now that Diego is moving down to LW and he won to Yoshida, IMO he became #2 contender after Thiago and he's only 1 fight away from getting his shot.

Hopefully the UFC won't cut him over a stupid video game contract, the WW division without him (and Diego) won't look as good as it used to.

Kos deserves more respect than those silly "boos" from the public whenever they see him on the big screens. I'm sure most of the people booing don't even know why they're doing it... But from now on I expect them to stop anyway (hopefully).

How about yourself, did Josh finally earn you as a fan/earn your respect?

I thought Koscheck was a major tool after watching him on TUF. But, I'm not one to hold a grudge. Kos has been very impressive recently. Since his Hazelett fight I knew that Kos was going to be around for a long time and has the quickness and athleticism to worry every WW.
Pity they are from the same camp but I'd like to see Kos fight Fitch or Swick. They would be sick fights.

I have always liked Josh. His brash, brazen, don't give a crap what you think of me style has always been one of the things that drew me to him as a fan.

He has grown as a fighter everytime he steps into the Octagon. He learns from his mistakes and evolves. It was very interesting to watch him last night. I used my DVR and re-watched the entire fight at 1/4 speed. Kos never even looked for a serious takedown. He was feinting to the left over and over. Every time he did Yoshida dropped his left hand further and further. Hmmm. I was expecting Kos to drop one of those patented looping right hooks onto the button, but hey, why not shoot straight in with power? That was a monster punch and the second one...holy crap!! Watching at the slow speed really showed just how good Kos' standup is getting. His foot movement was stellar, his chin was always tucked, his hands were always up, and he was stalking Yoshida the entire time. You could just see it in his eyes.

Nice fight Josh. Classy comments after the fight as well. Especially his "if this wasn't worth five bucks from every UFC fan out there then I don't know what else I can do" was stellar.

And I agree 100%. Everybody needs to kick in a buck or two (or more) on this cause. I was so moved by this entire fight night that I am beyond words. I just went to the Tapout site and ordered a killer t-shirt. I get the best of both sides...new cool shirt, and the proceeds serve as my donation to the Intrepid fund.

"Get on the f'ing crazy train m-f'rs!!" (as Ozzie might say)

Let's all put this trauma center on the map with OUR support. And WAR Kos!!

I thought it was cool that he took Yoshida's comments about watching the big right looping punch and threw the powerful straight to stun him, then the hook to put him down.

That's a warrior, willing to lay his life on the line. I've had Marines that have laid their lives on the line for the man next to him, and for their family and country. That's a warrior. The guy who goes into some athletic contest who has no war experience, in my eyes, really has no right to call himself that. That's a coveted thing to call someone, and that's what I call my Marines. I respect Kos as a fighter and think he is personally a complete dickhead. I hated him on TUF then I started to somewhat change my opinion as he got better as a fighter but then I heard him on a local radio show interview and he was a complete dick. Showed his true colors in that interview and I doubt I will ever like or respect him as a person.

A lot of it was his attitude to the show's host and how he responded to his questions. The host is one of the very few here in Austin that will even discuss MMA and is a huge fan of the sport. Kos laughed at a couple of his questions and seemed to mock the host's knowledge of MMA. He also kept changing the subject of the question to say he didn't care what fans thought of him but should check out his new clothing line that was coming out.

He also talked about how GSP didn't do anything to him in their fight and seemed to disrespect him. Personally I didn't like that as GSP was classy after their fight when he went into Kos' lockerroom to tell him he was a great fighter, keep your head up and that he will be a champ someday.

Mainly it was his attitude as a arrogant prick in the way he came off.

I never hated Josh, I just thought he was too cocky early on in his career. He's earned that cockiness by now though.

Well let's see, to say I'm pleased for Kos right now is an understatement. I'm sure it'll have earned him more fans and rightfully so.

I think he's the sort of guy that will always have his haters though, just because of the way he is, and that's cool. I actually think being hated is better than drawing no reaction from the crowd at all.
