yeh...as i said, it'd be a fun fight...but kos is a better striker than swick is IMO....and he got worked pretty bad standing...

even w/ the 7" reach adv swick would have...alve's legs are longer and alve's mostly uses kicks to set up big punches

That's not what I've heard Swick is supposed to be clearly the best striker at WW in AKA.

Swick has some serious Muay Thai he spends a lot of time in Thailand improving it too.

Swick vs Alves would be interesting closer then a lot of people think.

I actually think Swick would have a good shot in this fight. He has real good striking and can move. Id like to see it.

Swick > Kos at striking imo

To be fair if he keeps working in Thailand he will face much nastier kicks then Thiago can offer.

i'm sure it won't hurt, and altho it's an overused cliche in mma, alves is just on another level standing....

I wouldn't go that far I mean Swick has never been outstruck by anyone but Leben and he just got caught.

Alves earned his shot and should be fighting for the title next, why fighting and taking the risk of loosing so close to his goal? Can't he wait 6 months?

i would. the only time he's faced a striker anywhere near alves' level he was fighting a one armed marcus davis and everything he was throwing was just to keep davis away .... he's also never finished a fight or even looked good against healthy top level competition ...

To be fair, who has Alves faught that is considered a striker? Fisher? It might have been awhile ago but he got worked in the standup in that fight.

Both fighters have never faught strikers like each other b4

David Louiseau is IMO a Thiago Alves level striker.

Swick's height IMO would give Thiago a lot of trouble.
