Not cool.

Am i the only one that thinks the penalty for missing weight is too light?

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

I doubt it, this looks more to me like he's not ready. Looking even better for Macdonald now, Gouveia will probably be slower and obviously didn't have a good cut.

Jmac will get the W here, probably decision.

I'm still picking Gouveia to win, he's a more well-rounded fighter than McDonald and he can hold his own on the ground. Really wouldn't be surprised to see him knock McDonald out honestly.

not making weight doesnt really show much as to what the fighters performance will be like. thiago alves whooped hughes when he didnt make weight. seeing as he'll lose 20% of his purse i doubt he'll make the same mistake again.

<--- the punch that started it all!

My current favirote fighters
Anderson Silva
Junior Dos Santos
Mauricio Rua
Alistair Overeem
Jon Jones

WAR dan hardy, paul daley, ross pearson and terry etim doing it for the britz!

so unprofessional, he's had plenty of time to prepare for this fight. at this level you don't expect people to miss weight by that much
I'm rooting for Jmac anyway!

Favourite Fighters:

Dan 'The Outlaw' Hardy
Anderson 'The Spider' Silva
Renato 'Babalu' Sobral
Michael 'The Count' Bisping
Thiago 'The Pitbull' Alves
Kenny 'Kenflo' Florian
Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson

I agree, the penalty should be harsher. Maybe like Macdonald gets the win money (since he won the 185 fight by forfeit) but they fight at catchweight for the purse and chance at sub/KO of the night. That would be a substantial penalty, but we'd still get to see the matchup. It's unfair to Macdonald that Gouevia gets to walk in with a size advantage when he contracted for a fight at 185.

I'm just throwing this out there, maybe this suggestion has a downside I'm not seeing. But I think the 20% penalty is pretty light. Imagine if Liddell had walked in 10 lbs heavy for his fight with Jardine? (I choose this example because I remember Liddell was being paid many times more $$$). He would've had a size advantage, and still made more money to show than Jardine. I'm not saying Chuck would ever do this, it's just an example.

isn't it 10% of purse to opponent for accepting the fight?
