I think he wanted to quote me but forgot to write the text..

To reply to something someone else said about not liking Anderson Silva. How could you NOT like the guy? He's one of the classiest and nicest guys in MMA, obviously he's a superior talent and doesnt take that for granted..c'mon people, stop hating. Nuthugging is when you praise a guy because you're biased, the people that know MMA arent bias, hating is just hating because he's the best..period. Also the guy that thought he was witty and commented on his fight with Ryo Chonan. It was a very good fight, and obviously Silva isnt going to dominate everyone, however he was holding his own and was winning the fight, then Chonan got the scissor hook in, some VERY ****ing rare, definitely Silvas toughest loss, so what's your point? We all know he can be defeated..and as I said, White is going to need to bring in people from other promotions to beat him.

Since you prefer youtube check these out..

Here's a decent tribute YouTube - Anderson Silva Highlight by Stemerm

YouTube Anderson Silva vs Curtis Stout - Check this one out, after exchanging some strikes Anderson easily takes him to the ground and mounts, gets turned over and almost easily submits him into an armbar, Andesron gets back top position and lays some devestating strikes from the guard, unreal.

YouTube - Anderson Silva standing elbow KO
Then just for fun check this out, this is what's coming for Lutter/Cote.

no one is making any knocks on Anderson's character at all, he is a nice guy and in fact I used him as a comparison against Dana White who I think is an egotistical creep and said why can't he be more like Anderson? The problem is as I see it, no one thinks that any of the UFC fighters are smart or good enough to even make an entertaining fight (unless by entertainment you mean a broken nose in 20 seconds which is the fate so many people attach to Anderson's next victim ... um opponent). I think fighters will learn to adapt to Anderson't style a bit and will put in better shows than Leben and Franklin. Christ, Lee Murray took him the distance. And by the way, I did not see the whole fight with Ryo Chonan, but I heard Ryo was well on his way to winning

Whoa I never said his fights against UFC fighters wouldnt be entertaining, I just said it's highly unlikely they can beat him.

Marquardt/Silva would be entertaining, Nate would probably hold his own for a bit but Silva adapts pretty well to his opponent and very easily, he'd probably defeat him sometime in the late second round.

Swick/Silva wouldn't be so entertaining to me. Swick is a lot more accurate than Leben with his striking, but Swick also swings wide, Anderson would know this and use that to find a way to win.

Marquardt/Swick would be the only people that would actually have a chance against him, but not a good one. I dont think Lutter Cote could make for an exciting fight against Silva.

Oh my ass he was on the losing end of Silvas strikes not to mention he was gassed and in sheer desperation threw out a flying heel hook out of nowhere that even the best submission fighters would have fallen to. Ryo was lucky nothing else.

Exactly, and like I pointed out earlier, Silva wont dismantle every opponent he has, yet people bring back fighters haunting losses to use that as their excuse to why he's not the best.

It's debatable but even before Silva beat Leben and Franklin I thought Silva had won that fight. And like I said before, that submission was NUTS, and very rare, no one could escape that, no one.

anderosn is over-rated in this forum. Since his last two fights in the ufc people have been treating him like a god. Like he won two fights against two guys with absolutely no comparable striking(leben) or clinch skills(franklin), and both of them wanted to stand with him, both luring themselves into the worst positions they could be in during a fight with silva. Man im a silva fan but his takedown defence is decent at best for an a level fighter and thats why hes at a large risk fighting any strong wrestlers with good submissions or ground and pound. Yeah he got his bb form the bog bro's but hes not nearly as good as them he even said he trained with them becasue they where so much better. Hes gotten caught by subs more than once and newton had him in bad positions on the ground. His bjj skills are not comparable to bj penn or royce. As long as they keep bringing in strikers who insist on striking with him his pupularity cant help but rise, nobody's striking or clinch work at mw is comparable and there are far fewer grapplers than strikersin the ufc mw div.

I'm not sure if I'm one of the ones that acted in "rage", I didn't think I was. But your thread was "Cote is a threat for Silva"...and that was a bit dumbfounded. Aside from Rich Franklin...Silva has no threat in the middleweight division, period, if that's not as close to a fact then an opinion I dont know what is.

I think even as the champ people are STILL underrating Silva, thinking that this subpar UFC fighters can just face him and give him a challenge. Now I'm not saying every fight he has he's going to KO them in the first 3 minutes, but regardless the dude wont lose for a long..long time.

As far as Cote goes, hey I like the guy, he's one of my favorites on the show, but just because he's on the show doesnt mean I have to make piss poor excuses for him as to why he stands as a threat to Anderson Silva, he doesnt. Have you seen his striking? It's very sloppy, if striking is Cotes strengths then Anderson is going to pick him apart. He's a world class striker and world class ground specialist, any aspect of MMA Silva completely overmatches him.

It's not called "worshipping", it's called being a realist. Cote doesnt stand a shot against Silva, as much as people want him too or not. I think one of the reasons they want to think he has a shot is so they dont feel cheated...by rooting for the guy on the show then having to see him get dismantled by Silva.

AND anyway, we dont even know if Cote is going to face Silva, I personally think Lutter is going to win the fight, and if LUTTER beats Cote, do you honestly think Cote would stand a shot against Silva? Who is just as good as Lutter on the ground ,LIGHT YEARS ahead of him in striking.

Reality is this, Cote has the heart and determination, and is a decent striker...but Anderson Silva is a world class MMA fighter, and is NOT the fighter to take ANYONE lightly. Hence, Cote having nothing to go on but "being the underdog" if he does face Silva.

Cote = Aggressive Free Thrower
Silva = Pin Point Accurate, Heavy Hand, World Class Striker

Cote = No submission skills, below average ground and pound
Silva = Ground Specialist with jiu-jitsu black belt

Reckless Striker < World Class Striker
Below Average Ground Game < World Class Ground Game

And that my friend, is the "cold hard facts".
One of the best posts I have ever seen on any forum...PERIOD. More rep to you my friend! I thought Matt Serra Fan wrote it at first, I was like WTF? I've never heard that guy sound like this before! Haha, anyway I agree 100%
