Mike Swick Interview

Quote:
MMA Sports caught up with Mike Swick after his Knockout victory over Jonathan Goulet at UFC Fight for the Troops. With a change from Middleweight to Welterweight, he is on a 3 fight winning streak and getting closer to a title fight.

MMASPORTS: First off I wanted to congratulate you on the very impressive win over Jonathan Goulet, could you give us your thoughts on that fight?
MS: Thanks! It went great. Pretty much how I had envisioned it going
for the last 3 months!

MMASPORTS: That makes KO #6 so far, which one is your most memorable knockout to date?
MS: It’s hard to say. I think the Goulet KO is the most meaningful, considering the crowd and cause of the event.

MMASPORTS: This also makes your 3rd straight win at Welterweight…what made you drop down a weight class?
MS: It’s my natural weight class.

MMASPORTS: Well, that makes sense then…haha. I've been hearing rumors that a bout between you and Thiago Alves may be in the works...any truth to that?
MS: This is the fight I want, so we shall see.

MMASPORTS: I wanna see this fight as well, Joe Silva if you are reading this…Make it happen!! How do you think a fight with Alves would go?
MS: I think it would be a very exciting fight!

MMASPORTS: There’s a big fight coming up soon between Penn and St.Pierre, which if you keep beating people up like you have been, could definitely come into play with you in the future...who do you think takes this fight?
MS: I hate doing predictions! haha, I like both fighters very much and would be honored to one day fight either of them.

MMASPORTS: haha! So...what do you like to do, when you’re not fighting?
MS: My hobbies are traveling and poker! I love to travel. I am actually heading back to Thailand this Sunday for vacation and training. I will be blogging about it on my daily blog... michaelswick.blogspot.com

MMASPORTS: Sounds like fun. Who hits the hardest, out of anyone you have ever fought/sparred/etc.
MS: Well, I guess Chris Leben. He is the only guy to ever knock me down or TKO me in a fight.

MMASPORTS: If you could play matchmaker for a day, what is one fight that you would love to set up and watch (any org/weight class/etc.)
MS: Well right now I would love to see Fedor/Lesner.

MMASPORTS: If they were to make a movie about your life...who do you think they would get to play Mike Swick?
MS: ME!

MMASPORTS: Haha, all right man, that’s all I have got for you...anything you wanna close with?
MS: Just want to say thanks to all the fans out there for their support! Please check out my new YouTube page and Blog all linked up at MikeSwick.com!

Well Thiago vs Mike isn't happening because Thiago hurt his hand.

However Mike working in Thailand is going to be great for his stand up he looks improved everytime he does.

Good interview from Swick. As for the fight(if it happened), I think he could very well win it. If he can stay to the outside against Alves and not get caught, I think he could take the decision. He's got more reach and height so that plays in his favour.

Swick could win it, not saying I think he would. I really see this fight going down sort of like Florian vs Huerta in terms of the stand up.

I think Swick would either win in the the first minute, or loses in the by TKO in the second.

I think he could put him away though, and lay him out cold which would boost him to contendership.

Hell, I'm calling all predictions this way, Swick by KO in the first minute, or reasonable outcome later on.
