I think BJ will win the fight too, but what does that fight have to do with these statements and the responses to them?

Roach said BY FAR the best striker...that doesn't mean it is close..or that he is the best boxer in MMA...it is apparently not even close how much better BJ is than anyone that ever thought about fighting in the realm of striking. This according to Freddie at least.

That is just incorrect. Especially since MMA striking is more then punching. Which is all BJ is great at.

I'd have to agree that Torres has the best jab I've seen in all of mma.

Wow, this is BS, the best all around striker in UFC is probably A.Silva. BJ has no kick and no knees (even that argument with Sherk is not really good, the guy was down against the cage and was shooting in, easy pick)

Let's see quickly... Those are better than BJ

Muay Thai - A.Silva, Alves
Boxing - Davis, Swick

And physically alot of guys overpower him.

LOL!

BJ has the ability to "stay in the pocket" and trade. His chin, head movement, hand speed, foot work and technique is top class. Roach was talking about "Queensbury rules" striking and I agree with him.

I think its more the fact its coming from a boxing guy then the fact that he says BJ is the best striker. Apparently the bias goes both ways.

Also I cant wait to see BJ give GSP the business as well.

understand who is saying this, and how BJ fights. Anderson Silva and GSP fight like mua thai guys, by having way more movement in the ring and utilizing more moves in the standup. However, from a purely boxing point of view BJ is by the far the best pure boxer I've seen in the UFC. He has the power to knock guys out, he stays extremely composed, can check the nastiest flurries coming at him, he has damn good accuracy and he has a magnificent jab. Does that make him the best striker? no. that makes him the best boxer, guys with better counter striking, more head movement and more knees/elbows/general clinch work are better strikers (hint hint, silva). It's like when Forrest fought Rampage, just because Rampage could hit harder didn't mean he won, BJ is absolutely beatable standing up if GSP sticks to a plan. If GSP stands flat footed and tries to box with BJ he'll be tasting his own blood, but if he avoids the jab and doesn't let himself get cornered BJ will have a tough time catching him.
