I think Shields is underrated by a lot of the guys I consider to be top members on here.

Jake has a ton of talent and I think people overlook him because he looked bad standing against Daley.

But that's because Daley would destroy every WW in the UFC standing.

That includes Thiago, Davis, GSP, and BJ.

Shields IMO will fit right in with Koscheck, Thiago, and Fitch and make up the top 5 of the WW division behind GSP.

Sometimes I just have no idea how Shields has beaten the guys he has. There's so many dudes in the UFC that are bigger, stronger, and just better than he is, I just can't see him making too big of a splash.

To be fair it's not like he isn't beating bigger stronger guys outside of the UFC.

He beat Okami, Thompson and Daley who are all bigger guys and who all have skills that give almost anyone trouble.

To be the best you have to beat the best.

Right now the best in the world at 170 are fighting in the UFC. It only makes sense Shields wants to fight there.

I'd love to see Karo as his first opponent.

I know, that's what baffles me. But I mean, the dudes in the UFC are just downright scary, and look like they can really really hurt Shields.

Do you really see Shields beating Alves? Cause I don't.

Shields, imo, wouldn't be a top 5 WW in the UFC. He has horrible stand up and would get worked standing by the better UFC fighters. He doesn't have good enough wrestling either to take down the likes of GSP and Alves.

Shields is very overrated. He would get utterly destroyed by any of the top 5 WW in the UFC.

He has horrible striking and his wrestling is subpar. The only thing he has going for him is his BJJ. Any decent striker with some TDD can beat him.

Have you seen the Okami fight? That was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen.

I want to see Hazelett fight more often, that guy is seriously exciting to watch. I would even like to see him rematch Kos, that fight was pretty even until that headkick.

Favorite fighters:
BJ Penn
Nogueira Bros
Anderson Silva
Lyoto Machida
Demian Maia
Andrei Arlovski

Funny thing is, he was rumored to face Karo back in 06.
