UFC on VHS

I cant belive they hyped 91 so much. I mean it was a good card but "the biggest fight in mixed martial arts HISTORY" and the comercials would play that song in th backround phhh.

Sholda saved it for 92 because this actually is the best card I think I have ever seen.

I think everyone is overestimating how much this card will sell. Fans like visit this site realize how big it is but casual fans dont have any big draws on it like (Liddell, Tito, Brock, GSP, etc) so I dont think it will sell as well as some think. For that reason I think they should be promoting it much more than they are currently.

Agreed. The names on this card sell itself. Not so sure it will be at the top of the '09 list, but it will probably be the best event all year.

I kind of agree. The 92 card is way better than 91's, and to say that Randy vs. Brock is the biggest fight in MMA history is a bit much. They definitely needed to promote 92 more for the casual fans.

UFC 91 would have gotten barely any money whatsoever.

I'm predicting around 700K buys for UFC 92.

If they had 1 or 2 other big names on UFC 91, it would have definitely beat the PPV record.

Nah, that sounds low. Maybe, because it's the holidays,more people will consider buying the PPV, and THEN they wonder:

"hmmm I wonder who's fighting... OMFG lol its Furrest Griffan and the black guy who KO'd Liddlle!!! ANd there's that other black guy who KO'd Chuck Liddlle who's fighting that Brazilian who fought an awesome fight with Chuck Liddle!! ANd there's the two TUF coaches I think... sh!t I'm so buying this!"

And then buy it. I think that the UFC don't want to spend much money on the MArketing AND on the names. At ufc 91, only Randy and Lesnar were the highly paid fighters on the card mind you. While here, we have 3 fights with star-fighters which will cost the UFC a great deal more money. So they expect the fights to more or less sell themselves and pay themselves off. Marketing perhaps wouldn't have been that profitable...

Anyways, if the casual fan could just use the internet to check the fight cards and check up the fighters on wikipedia or whatever, we wouldn't have this marketing problem we have now...
