Ridiculous statement
Bisping has lost ONE fight,a decision, that was by no means clear cut,to the guy that this saturday fights for the LHW championship of the world. The man who also turned out Chuck Liddell's lights with one punch,Bisping hung with him, matched him all the way, never looked in danger of being stopped or knocked out.I've said on here before, although im English,im not Bisping's biggest fan by any means, but that comment is just plain wrong.
As for Vera,i think his confidence is at an all time low,i really believe he cares about the fans and what they think, and so wants to be exciting, instead of knuckling down and getting the job done,he needs to shut the fans out,and get his swagger back.

Bisping is in the UFC because he is a great talent and always has been.
But you could be right on Vera.
The guy has looked dreadful lately and I can't think of anyother reason the UFC has kept him around other then he has potential but if they were keeping around guys with potential who aren't living up to it Sokky would still be in the UFC because the guy has 10x the potential Vera has. And his efforts have been much better then Vera's.

Bisping belongs in the UFC regardless of nationality. He's not at the absolute top of his division but he's a solid fighter.
Vera would probably be hanging a bit loose if he was 100% American, but I don't think they would have cut him quite yet, due to a couple of nice KO wins he had at HW... But I think his next loss would be his last fight in the UFC.
Dennis Siver on the other hand...

It's hard to question the validity of a fighter who's only lost once in his career (of course we'll see about that when Bisping finally faces some top 10 competition.) But i think you nailed it on the head with Vera.
Especially with the emergeance of pacquio in the phillipines and Dana White wanting to steal some of that market share. I think of guys like Werdum who got cut after one loss and then i see Vera getting signed to a contract extension after three garbage fights and i think... WTF??
The only answer to that is Dana needs a hometown hero to lure the filipino fans into the sport, if the UFC weren't looking to expand into the Phillipines would Vera still be around?? I can't say for sure, but I HOPE NOT

Seriously get over it and move on. Hamill was just as disrespectful to Bisping for a year leading up to the fight. So what if Bisping said something stupid in the adrenaline fuelled aftermath of a close fight? He has been nothing but classy since and before it for that matter. If Hamill wasn't deaf none of this would have been blown out of proportion the way it has been.
Also there were two US judges who awarded it to Bisping and one British Judge who awarded it to . . .can you guess. . . That's right Matt Hamill. Please explain how the British judges stole it from Hamill?

Thanks for clarifying, I stand corrected. I watched that fight and everyone in the room was stunned at the decision. Hammil outclassed bisping that night, and in front of his own countrymen Bisping should of had a loss. It's my opinion and it won't change, especially after his performance against Leben. A real contender would of walked through Leben that night the way Anderson Silva did in his first UFC fight.

You are enitled to youropinion but maybe in future you should check the facts they are vbased on ok?
As for the fight itself Hamill did not outclass him. He took him down a bit, did no damage at all when he was on the ground. In the 2nd and 3rd rounds Bisping connected more often and jabbed his way to a win. Contraversial? I guess so but I can see what teh judges were thinking.
As for the Leben fight he dominated him but didn't finish him. Not everyone has Silva's power and accuracy in the strikes. Not to mention massive reach advantage. Bisping worked from the outside nut made sure he didn't stay in the pocket long enough for Leben to go all "HULK SMASH" on him. He was aware of his own strengths (Accuarcy, movement) and weaknesses (lack of KO) as well as his opponents and fought to win. Do you really dislike a fighter for thinking intelligently? Not everyone is Anderson Silva. This is why no one else has mauled Leben the way he did.

Bisping is a stud. Why would he not be in the UFC? As for Vera (an american) or bisping only being in the UFC because of oversea marketability... what about all the brazillian fighters? Or what about guys like Kongo?
why am i responding to this thread. this is rediculous. haha.

If there were no fans in the Philippines, Nover wouldn't have been called "the next Anderson Silva and GSP"

Why does Bisping get hated on as a fighter? He is very talented and only has one loss in the UFC. Even though he should have lost to Hamill he also may have actually beaten Rashad and he has been great at middleweight. He would be in the UFC and would still be well on his way to a shot at the MW title which I think he will have by the end of 2009. He might not win it but I think he will get a shot at it and I think he has earned his hype.

Bisping kicks ass, i love how he pisses off the nerdy american kids on here and seeing them moan about his win over Hammil always makes me chuckle.
