Even less interested in this rematch, but doesn't matter because Cote won't be healthy for the fight.

For the fight I think Leites can give him a good fight but I just can't go against Silva right now.

Nate was winning that fight, if he wasn't a dumbass and didn't get 2 points deducted from him he prob would have won the decision.

Thales is a good match up for Silva I think. Problem is this fight wont sell for shit. Better have a good co-main event to go along with this. Have Chuck fight someone I guess....

I don't see why Leites should be ahead of either Okami or Maia.

5-0. Why not? No one else to fight, Okami will get his shot if he wins. This is probably just a refresher fight. Why have him come back from injury to fight Silva right away? That would make less sense than Leites fighting Silva, which imo is still reasonable. Of course you aren't going to get the greatest hype for a fight when Silva has pretty much wiped out the division. Why not give it to up and comers with a decent win streak going for them. He is the only one who has a decent one other than Maia and based on their amount of wins, I guess they felt it more deserving.

Really you can make an argument for any of them.
Okami's problem is that he lost to Rich, losing to Rich makes people think well Anderson murdered Rich twice so by MMA mat Okami loses this fight(not saying its true). Also Okami isnt very marketable and doesnt really have any exciting or dynamic wins.
Maia has one less win then Thales streak wise in the UFC and really doesnt have that top fighter win to push him to the fore front.
In spite of it being controversial, Thales win over Marquardt is still a W, and Demian doesnt have any W in the UFC yet that really can compare to beating a fighter like Nate.

If Okami fought Rich like he did in the 3rd round he would have had his shot earlier. But I agreee, the guy is getting shafted by Zuffa. Especially relegated to the pre lims to look bad against Dean Lister
You can't have endless title eliminators, then we'd be short contenders and "ZOMG who's Anderson going to fight?" So why not throw him in there with Leites.
However, this show won't draw good and people will see it as a waste of time again for Silva. The guy needs a big name to draw with him right now, and that just isn't there at 185. Again, the ufc is all about global expansion, sign Akiyama and throw this shit down in Korea. Be far more worthwhile than to have him fight on a card against Leites without Cote or GSP there in Montreal

He would have. Even with the deductions, it was a split.
