I love this matchup. Just not much to argue about in it so it doesn't get as much attention as most.

This is perhaps one of the most even match ups in a long time. I could see this going either way.

Advantages for Franklin: Conditioning, Ace does not gas, ever. Striking, while Hendo may be more powerful, Franklin has more technical striking ability by a mile.

Advantages for Hendo: Power, hes got bricks for hands. Chin/toughness, the dude can take a beating like a man. Wrestling, he can take down and control Ace, but I dont think he'll do much damage on the GnP.

I would consider Franklin to be the faster of the two. If this fight goes for three rounds, Franklin by UD, but either one of them has the capability to knock out or TKO the other.

But if all else fails

This really is a HUGE fight that is getting little-to-no-cred. The only thing that detracts from it is the fact that both guys got destroyed by Anderson, but that's been happening a lot lately to anybody who goes near the guy.

Being sandwiched between the big year-end card and a GSP/Penn sequel(with two extra rounds, no less) definitely hurts it as well. Overseas cards get no respect.

Browncow will be mooing for Rich(as per usual). Ace should be extra-motivated going in knowing that he won't get to corner his bjj coach in the UFC anytime soon. He will look to avenge the cutting of his prized Jorgie-boy.

Yeah, but having a substantial height and reach advantage didn't hurt either. Not to mention Palhares kept setting up his takedown attempts with a high kick. Very entertaining to watch the first couple times, no doubt, but it got pretty ridiculous after a while.

This is going to be a great, great fight. It's at 205, Henderson is the man at that weight. Rich has already proved that he can perform at that weight.

Oh, and I agree, this is way more interesting than Penn vs GSP 2, which will be GSP grinding out Penn and then finishing him in the later rounds. Hendo vs Franklin is tough to predict.

Oh yeah, I'm stoked for this one. Hendo is gonna rain down some leather!!!

I don't see how people can say his wrestling isn't that good, he's one of the best greco roman guys in the sport (coming up short only to randy imo), and that right hand is definitely still there, it's just that in his most recent UFC fights he's fought a couple of guys who either have cinder blocks for heads (rampage), or are too elusive for him to land it convinclingly (silva), but he sure knocked wandy on his ass!!

I don't what Franklin is going to bring to the table besides a slight size advantage.

Not quite as excited as the GSP/BJ fight, but close. I think the BJ/GSP fight has a more packed card all around, as well.

Franklin, UD.

To be honest, i was under the impression that this came AFTER BJ vs GSP. Funny how the hype warped my timeline.

I think Rich is going to dominate in almost every position, with the exception being in the clinch. On the ground, i honestly think Rich will be able to sweep Hendo.

Demian Maia may be the Fred Astaire of jiu-jitsu, but it’s too bad Silva is the Gene Kelly of kicking everyone’s ass.

It certainly a great fight, I think its bein overlooked just for the fact that neither fighter are really in the title picture in either 205 or 185.

I got to say that this is certainly one of the most difficult fights to make a prediction for...I want Mr.Franklin to win though as Im not a fan of Henderson to be honest.

Actually, I'd say the Hendo/Ace card is pretty damn stacked as well.

You got such fights as:

Shogun vs. Coleman
Kang vs. Belcher
Lytle vs. Davis
Horn vs. Palhares
Kampmann returns
Schafer vs. Mendes

That's pretty damn solid if you ask me.
