Well watch the BJ and Hughes fight again. Right up until BJ gassed he was winning the fight. Not only winning but dominating Hughes. That is what would worry me if I were hughes. However GSP is not some crazy flexible bjj fighter that will contort to submit you.

GSP can demolish Hughes standing up. This is where he should keep the fight until he wears hughes down then and only then take it to the ground. Hughes is a VERY good wrestler. You dont get 40+ wins by being one dimensional. He is a ground and pound fighter who is very strong with great subs. Only thing that lacks is his stand up. However when you are very good at taking people down your stand up is not that important.

Hughes, not that well rounded. He is subject to submissions at any moment. BJ won rounds 1 and 2. Obviously he gassed, but I think the McCarthy stoppage was premature. BJ was getting hit, but those shots were only annoying, not devastating.

Look back on the Dewees cut forehead. If that wasn't stopped, no ground and pound should be.....unless the recipient taps.

GSP is well rounded, a true fighter, whereas Hughes is extremely onesided.

My hopes:
GSP knocks that cowpuck out early.

Realistic speculation:
This fight will go the distance. GSP should have points at conclusion.

GSP's confidence:
This is a new GSP. He's got fire in his belly. Hughes was an a$$ in TUF 4. You only talk smack when you are nervous. If Hughes thought he'd man handle GSP, he'd treat him like a bro.

Interested in what ya'll think the odds should be????

Your buddy down? Take him to the mat and roll his worries away!!

My prediction is that Hughes put GSP on his back and pounds him till the Ref stops it.

I think you guys are doing a bit to much comparison to Penn versus Hughes and Penn versus GSP. Also so what if Penn broke his ribs,if Hughes gets hurt in this upcoming fight are you guys going to let him off the hook? You also all have to admit that Penn doesn't train very hard and maybe that led to his injury. Thats speculation ofcourse, but its a very legimate thought.

GSP is very good and this is what its all about. The 2 best going head to head. If Hughes loses then he loses. Thats nothing to be ashamed of. The best in the World lose at some point, even Fedor probably will someday.

Hughes is the champ and till he loses he's the best in the world at his weight!!

George St.Pierre is the man and I count on him putting Hughes down for the count. If its a Unamious Decison or a knock out I don't care, I want that title off Hughes and I want it the mighty Canadian St.Pierre. Vive Le Canadien

Knowledge application of styles and knowing each fighter's tendencies goes beyond fight comparison.
