Read my post #21, maybe you should open up your eyes and show some intelligence yourself...Mike X was smart enough to catch on why I called him Pothead, what's your problem .. you might agree with his opinion but many others have said exactly what I have, that's why there have been like a dozen threads on this

It's cool slick I knew you didn't mean it to be derogatory and please man you can't be taking my posts so personally I try to clarify I am not attacking YOU personally. We've had arguements before this is what forums are for I didn't mean to offend you by saying the word retarded. No one is flipping out, we are all fight fans so naturally we're gonna have a bad attitude.
I'm gonna have to disagree with jdun11's post though. I don't think Aleks has beaten any better competition than either AA or Sylvia. PRIDE has cans as well and James Thompson, Ricardo Morais, Pawel Nastula are all PRIDE cans. Aleks has one legit competitor he's beaten and that's Sergei Kharitonov and he beat him in a way that is illegal in the UFC so it is hard to use that win in his favor.

This part is directed to EVERYONE!
EVERY SINGLE FIGHTER IN THE UFC RIGHT NOW, YES EVEN THE CHAMPIONS, ALL CAME FROM DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS!!!!!!! HUGHES CAME FROM EXTREME CHALLENGE SO DOES THAT MEAN EXTREME CHALLENGE > UFC??? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY CAN'T PEOPLE GRASP THIS CONCEPT THERE IS NO LOGIC IN SAYING ORGANIZATION A > ORGANIZATION B!! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY IS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TALENT! PRIDE'S PRESIDENT DID NOT GIVE BIRTH TO ALEXANDER EMELIANENKO! HE IS A NORMAL HUMAN BEING WHOCREATED HIS OWN TALENT AND PRIDE JUST HAPPENED TO BE THE SHOW THAT HE DISPLAYED IT ON!
Just to let ya know, this was in response to every thread that has ANYTHING to do with Pride vs. UFC. Not just this one don't take it personal Slick.

what your saying is different though all the ufc champs ofcourse had to start somewhere and if you can start your first show at ufc then you must be damn good ( i believe bj penn did actually ) but most people cant so instead they do smaller gigs till they can step up and fight at UFC where as ufc and pride are at the same level and are often compared becuase they have rivalries between eachother (like during total elimination 2003 when chuck and other ufc fighters went over to pride) its just lately (this is just my opinion) it seems that pride shows are getting better and better than UFC in my opinion again only welter weight and light weight are worth watching anymore in the ufc. middle weight will be ruled by anderson silva for a long time LHW's only good fight in a long time will be chuck and tito i mean what happens if chuck wins again then what? forrest griffin? lol then theres heavyweight which has been very boring with low competition hopefully vera and aleksander can make it more exciting so i think its just a rivalry that will always be there UFC fans will argue that pride fills thier champs records with japanese cans while pride fans can say ufc fills there organization with shitbags from TUF its like sibling rivalry its going to be around for a while

I didn't take your post personally, I didn't even care that you said that I had a "retarded" theory .. and you know as well as I do MANY people in here would have had serious words with you about that one ... all i said was "sheesh, that's harsh" .. if that's bad, what do you say to these other assholes? My problem was with that dumbass who couldn't catch on why I called you Pothead

It is a positive step just bringing in better talent, though and I'm all for it if it strengthens the organization. Still, I'd like to see Arlovski hand him his ass

You do have a good point, but jesus people Anderson was not a Pride fighter.
He fought in Pride 5 times out of what? 21 fights in mma.
and his last Pride fight was 2 years ago

I think there are two men responsible for Pride v. UFC mentality. Their names are Vince McMahon and Ted Turner. Also, that is a very very good point about a work visa and having a felony. Actually that's good enough to sink my battleship. I am sure if it weren't possible then they would be in talks but that doesn't mean it will happen either....just looking for optimism for exciting news. I think it's going to take a grappler to beat him or maybe some leg kicks from AA or Vera. Anyone who wants to strike with Aleksander including Tim Sylvia (who I respect as a fighter and can separate in my mind that he is a great fighter who deservese respect but is also be a complete tool who I root against, and imagine that he is affiliated with Matt Hughes.) will have a short fight.
PS Pot(aka the devil's harvest) = High Five!
