Finally saw Stun Gun vs. Matt Brown. It was terrific. I have to disagree with the notion that Matt Brown was somehow robbed. Dong Hyun dominated the first round. He took Matt Brown's back five times nearly sinking in a rear naked choke, and worked towards an armbar towards the end of the round.
It was pretty clear that Dong Hyun didn't pace himself properly in the first round, and the effects showed in round two when Matt Brown dominated the round with strikes standing and a little bit of ground 'n pound.
The third round? Indisputably Dong Hyun's round. He took Matt Brown down twice and ended the fight opening up Matt Brown with some very nasty elbows. Dong Hyun also landed a punishing elbow standing. Matt Brown landed a few kicks in the first 30 seconds or so, but after that, it was clearly all Stun Gun.
Dong Hyun should've paced himself a little bit more instead of blowing his load in the first round, but you can't blame a fighter for trying to finish a fight, especially if you can take an opponent's back so easily.
And this is where Karo's experience may help him in their fight. But let Dong Hyun work on his strategy and conditioning, and he'll have an excellent chance against Karo.
My pick: Stun Gun by decision.
