Swick out for 3 1/2 months with injured foot

Quote:
In recent weeks reports have circulated linking UFC welterweight competitor Mike Swick to potential fights vs. Anthony Johnson or Georges St. Pierre. While those fights still could happen at a later date, FiveOuncesOfPain.com has learned that an aggravation of a foot injury will prevent the season one veteran of The Ultimate Fighter from accepting a bout for at least the next three and a half months.

Multiple sources have informed Five Ounces of Pain that Swick has been suffering from both a sprain and a chip fracture in his foot that limited him to only being able to box during his first round TKO over Jonathan Goulet at “UFC Fight for the Troops” last month.

During a recent trip to Thailand, Swick re-injured himself and will now be restricted to modified training which will prevent him from training kicks of training on the ground. The hope is that the injury will heal on its own and that he will be able to partake in a full training camp in three and a half months.
Man Swick's injuries have really kept him from being a contender at 170. The guy is 3-0 but he had to pull out of his first fight had to have surgery after he beat Davis and now this.

This sucks today is bad Amir pulls out which will knock Nick Catone from the main card and now this.

This truly sucks. I mean Swick is one of my favorites, but it seems his injuries are keeping him out of the spotlight he once had, and his popularity seems to have decreased since moving down to 170.

Burkman vs. Swick was awful, as Swick himself says.

I wouldn't mind seeing Alves/Davis or Alves/Fitch 2 instead. Just in case BJ wins and has to defend his LW title first.

I love Swick it kills me that the guy went from hugely overrated before UFC 69 when a ton of people saw him winning the MW title to basically an afterthought.

Is it just me or does it seem like Swick gets injured a lot lately?

Yea he has been very injury prone. Dana even said the whole reason Swick hasn't been able to be a top WW yet is his body breaking down.
