GSP's passing

i had a thread awhile back stating that i thought gsp was the best passer in mma. i had a few agree, alot disagree, and got some neg reps.

st pierre pretty much passed bj's gaurd at will and we have seen his passing game improve with every fight. where do you guys think he now ranks when it comes to passing gaurd?

Too hard to say no after he passed the guard of what many call the greatest BJJ practioner in MMA.

How many times did he pass his guard, 6, 7 times? Unbelievable.

For now, I would definitely say he's the best in MMA. He passed BJs guard like it was easy. But that's not even the most amazing part. It's the fact that BJ couldn't even get back into full guard most of the time, that's what amazes me the most.

i think strength is a big factor when passing an opponents guard....and gsp was definitely much stronger than penn....seems like guard - half guard and half guard - side control are alot of strength and side control - mount it's all skill

His top game is absolutely phenomenal. Best in the sport technically (I still think Fedor's top game is better in practice though).

Its so hard to say because GSP spends more time ontop of guys than anyone else in MMA. No one else consistently gets the takedowns, and then has the ability to keep people down.

I guess if I said "yes" it'd simply be because I cant think of anyone else that is clearly better.

Either way GSP is definitely up there, no argument about it.

Gsp's top game is relentless and just plain scary. Really the only guy who i would say has a better top game then GSP. Is also the only guy that i think is a better P4P fighter then GSP and that is Fedor.

Penn was completely out muscled and outclassed by GSP..

GSP was in complete control of that fight from the get go..

Im curious what Penn will say about the outcome of this fight.. hope he accepts the defeat and goes back to completely dominate the LW division..

Shogun is my homeboy.
