Split Decisions ?!?

Is it just me, or is something just not right when there are 5 split decisions out of 10 fights?

This is just ridiculous. The judges all sit in the same section of the Octagon, so the "this judge had a different angle" argument is garbage, and they all supposedly use the same criteria. So how the hell did on judge see the other guy as winning in 5 fights?!?

Something really needs to be looked at here.

How the hell did one judge have Nate winning the fight? Round 1 was a 10-8 IMO and yet some judge gave him the whole fight 29-28. Just ridiculous.

well round 1 def was not a 10 - 8 round firstly...i've read NSAC judges reports where you need both damage and domination....

nonetheless, i made a thread about the bs judging in this fight....the fight was 29-28 clay, if not 30-27...

it wasn't a pretty win, but nate did nothing in rounds 1 and 2 except get his back taken

Have to disagree. Nate clearly won on the feet. Guida did put Nate in trouble a couple times, but didn't inflict much damage. All he really did was latch on in the clinch and not let go. He didn't do anything beyond that other than take a small shots on the inside. While he did technically "have the back" several times, if he moved enough within that position to mount any kind of offense Diaz would have escaped or put him in trouble & he knew it. This was a L&P win, even though it wasn't always literally laying on the ground. Guida ended up in what are generally considered to be more dominant positions, but all really did with them was neutralize Diaz. This is why I'm not a fan of Guida.

I don't remember if the Bonnar/Jones fight was a split or not but I remember hearing Joe saying before the decision that "IF Jones loses the decision he still showed great potential" and I was thinking to myself "how in the hell could he have possibly lost that fight? It should clearly be a UD".

As for the Diaz/Guida fight I am not surprised it was a split decision but I thought Diaz clearly should have gotten the nod. He won the standup, and all Guida did was hug on him. They both got takedowns, except Nate was more active and threatening with his sub attempts than Guida was with his...uhhh...what did he do again? Nothing?

Guida won the first round, the second could be considered even but I thought Diaz edged it out since he was actually trying to end the fight, and the 3rd was clearly Diaz.
