Machida: Respect Earned

I put together a thread pre-fight just stating that the winner of the Machida vs. Thiago bout would have respect because the fight would force both fighters to do things they have not done before. Simply put, I had a feeling that Machida would have to finish someone to remove himself from that doubter cloud that many people have him in(i'm not saying I know everything, lol, after all I was all-in B.J. Penn last night too!).

Well here we go. Machida once again effectively countered and this time left no doubt that he can effectively excecute an opponent. I for one have always been hesitant to give Machida much respect but I have to admit, I may be climbing slowly on this guys bandwagon. I just wanted to write this to show my appeciation for Lyoto and congratulations to what may be an unorthodox but still a very effective and dangerous fighter. To add, I think he now has 1 more fight before the belt opportunity...preferably against a former title holder in the weight class.

Anyone who wants to show their respect for the dragon and comment on what should be next, feel free.

Cheers
