Atleast Lutter ended up winning. I like Cote and I am Canadian but I think Lutter has the best chance against Silva. Still cant see him winning but It might be a pretty decent fight.

I agree, class act.
But i even more so loved the look on his face when Lutter won. He was smiling and looking like, thats it?

I enjoyed that as well, I definitley think he's a class act. I understand Portuguese very well and he spoke very highly of Rich Franklin which made me respect the "Spider" even more, some people may say it's a show or whatever but I don't care, it's all about respect and he seems to show that to all fighters.

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Favorite Fighters:

Chuck Liddell
Rich Franklin
Diego Sanchez

There's no doubt he's one of the classiest guys in the sport. Since his fight with Leben he's shown nothing but great appreciation and great attitude towards all his opponents.

I mean you wouldn't see Matt Hughes, Tim Sylvia, AA, BJ Penn, or even Chuck Liddell get in the octagon after a #1 contender fight and show admirable appreciation to the winner.

Anderson was all smiles on there, and was giving Lutter respect throughout the entire scenerio, probably because he was happy for Lutter that he's getting such a great opportunity like he himself did.

Did you guys see that he even shook Cotes hand as he left the octagon when Anderson was entering? Cote probably didn't even want to make eye contact, knowing he lucked out.

And like someone else said, Silva already put hilarity on himself by saying he better be training JJ, the guy is absolutely nothing but class, but it's just the way these kind of fighters are brought up.

To Matt_Serra_fan, why do you want him to learn English? He is who he is bro.

And to Jaw, I dont intend to build this into a "heated convo" like you're proned to do, but I'm sure the question he was asked was "How do you see the fight ending?" Silva simply replied, "We're probably going to exchange and I'll knock him out", it's not having an attitude, it's called having confidence in knowing you're going to win a fight, I dont think he would say "I think he'll knock me out, my world class striking doesn't seem to be par with a sloppy swinging striker". He also said in the Franklin interview "They'll raise my hand at the end of the fight", is that called having an attitude? I mean it's just your basic interview dude.

I think Anderson Silva is a class act but I thiknk he just fooled alot of people into thinking that he needs to "train" some BJJ; I started laughing when I heard that. The man is a BJJ Black belt. He'll be training for Lutter but he is definitely not going to be a slouch when it comes to BJJ.

But you gotta remember what these guys act like nice or bad doesent mean shit about who they really are. Its all for what they think will bring them fans or if they even care. Anderson has been very respectfull in the ufc. I think he was cooler in rpide, doing crazy spinning dances before fights and after wins. playing his invisible guitar after wins. But he hasnt really done any of that in the ufc. hes always been respectfull of his opponents but his old team. Shogun rua says anderson is the kind fo guy that treats you like a buddy one minute and stabs you int he back the next. Wanderlei calls him a ***** for some reason? But wandys always used to support him and be his buddy ,same with shogun. So he does have beefs.
Ya I can see how Chute Boxe calls him a backstabber. He used to train with them then he went to BTT and you know how those guys have the whole Best of Brazil thing going on. All in all I doubt Anderson went into the octagon on his own behalf. Dana might have told him too, to creat a hype. And I also hate that guy following him around but gotta have him there to understand whats going on. I don't think he should learn english just because of where he is. It's nice to have different cultures in MMA and he should keep it real with his language. Of course being in America and fighting here he will learn some just from being around it. Good thread.

No way should Anderson learn English just so the American fans can understand what hes saying. In Pride, we never really hear what they are saying...1 because they dont do it much, and 2 because hardly any of them speak English. English isnt the world language guys. I think its awesome having some international skill level fighters join the UFC. Its about time...

I think hes very classy and never means to insult anyone. I heard Anderson mention Rich in his speech, but the translator never mentioned what he said about him. If someone remembers exactly what he said, I would love to hear it.

Anderon will destroy Lutter...not even a fight. Just remember how highly all you guys thought of Rich Franklin...and you never EVER in a million years would put Lutter over Rich. Rich was supposedly "Unstoppable"

Anderson schooled Rich...and will do more than school lutter.

Only chance he has is to lay and gay him for a decision. Which wouldnt happen. If he wasted the whole first round on the ground...I think early in the 2nd...Anderon would just be like...well **** this shit...put a thai clinch on him and knee him to death.

I was glad he did not come in and talk trash through his translator althought that might have been entertaining. I dont think he really has anything to worry about however. I mean come on Lutter is going to destroyed.

anderson silva is a pimp. he was just having a good time. you can tell he enjoys being in the ufc. i think travis has his hands full. he should really consider finding some good training partners. i doubt any of his students are going to be able to help him prepare for anderson silva. i agree with most of you guys. it was really cool for him to congratulate travis, and silva made travis's moment that much better by saying he needs to work on his bjj. i hope all the people that didnt like him before do now. who cares is he doesnt speak english. do you think the japanese fans that go to the pride events care that most of the fighters dont speak japanese?? i think anderson is going to be champ for awhile, so everyone better get used to it.
