As far as this training goes, training with GSP will never be a bad thing for anyone. Kenny knows that his strengths aren't the same as GSP's. He knows he can't implement GSP's gameplan. However, he'd be foolish to not want to train with a top 3 P4P fighter.

If he is going to train with GSP to work on his wrestling thats one thing if he is going to train with him in order to beat BJ thats another entirely.

Exactly what i was going to say!! Being from MA i love Kenny and i think DellaGrote has been an amazing coach and helped Kenny get to where he is. I think he needs to stick with what he's been doing. He isn't going to outwrestle BJ like GSP did, and i certainly do not see him controlling BJ on the ground. I really like Kenny but i just think all of his strengths BJ is better at. Although i'll never county Kenny out, ESP if BJ shows up outta shape.

One area where i feel Kenny is better at is Muay Thai. Kenny could work those kicks and keep distance to make it harder for BJ to work his boxing. Obviously thats risky because it makes Kenny easier to take down. However if K-Flo could stuff that TD and get it into a clinch. I think he could do some damage to Bj in the clinch and after breaking the clinch.

I'm really not to worried about Florian though. He's a really smart fighter and always comes in with awesome gameplans. If he loses to Bj it will be because Bj is currently the better fighter. Not because Kenny didn't come prepared.

I don't really see how this can help Kenny too much besides simply learning BJ's tendancies, but even those would be different because Kenny is a different kind if fighter.

Kenny is definitely not a wrestler, so it isn't like GSP is going to do much for him there, and BJ trained to fight againt GSP as a wrestler, and *should* train differently for Kenny's gameplan.

It would be funny if it came out that Alves was training with Serra.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

i think training with GSP,p4p one of the best fighters, would benefit you no matter who your fighting. just the work ethic and skill level he brings is far better than 99% of the other fighters

I'm not so sure about that TBH, BJ's got a pretty good underrated clinch game. Besides, if I was Kenny I'd be wary of getting tied up with BJ in case he ghets the TD. I think Florian's best bet in this fight is to stay on the outside, keep it a striking battle and just try to out point Penn, much like he did against Huerta.

As a side note, Karo Parisyan is heading up to Tri-Star to train (with emphasis on conditioning). Tons of great fighters at that gym now!

First of all, how is BJ a better striker then Florian. Saying that is literally like saying boxing is a better striking art then MT. Sure, BJ's boxing is great, but it's only about as good as Kennys MT, so I really don't see him accomplishing much in the standup. On top of that, BJ only has about 2-3 rounds to finish Kenny before he gasses and Kenny brings the apocolypse down on his ass.

Second of all, GSP's camp has BJ identified down to a T. So this can be a very important information for Kenny coming into the fight, especially with Dr. Jackson coming up with an assisting game plan.

Third, since I've already established in my mind atleast that Kenny's going to win in the standup, if he can stuff BJ from taking him down, it will be a huge part in deciding whether or not he will win. Training with GSP's camp will improve his wrestling by lightyears. And lets not forget how quickly Kenny improves, so this may get his level of TDD to where it needs to be so that he can stop BJ from taking him down. And while it might not aid him in taking BJ down specifically, it will aid him in his offensive wrestling as well which will be very benifical in the future. Also, his only threats at LW other then BJ are Sherk and Deigo. I think most people will agree if he can stop them from taking them down, it will mean victory for him.

So overall, this fight comes down to TDD, and training with this camp my be enough to bridge the gap between Kennys TDD and BJ's TDs. Furthermore, even if Kenny loses, this will be a very valuable learning experience that will bring him much closer to becoming the best fighter in the world. If he continues to train with GSP or atleast more specifically on wrestling for a year or 2, I think he will actually reach that title, and be able to beat BJ by then.
