I wouldn't mind a 266+ weight class.

The HW division IMO needs more fighters. I think it's to soon to start another division. Also, how many fighters that are UFC caliber weigh over 260? I ask because there may be some, but I have no idea. Surely not enough to start a division though.

I think featherweight would come first btw.

Even if you split close to the middle and made a 230lb class almost everyone but Carwin and Lesnar could probably drop a bit of weight and cut to make it. So in the 265lb division we would just constantly have Carwin and Lesnar fighting for the Carwin/Lesnar championship of the world... Ufc needs more HW fighters to have a split.

I was gonna post a similar thread today!
Yes, I think there needs to be a split somewhere, not sure how it would be done tho, maybe have a 220 or 225 div then all above up to 265?
others are right, they do need more hw fighters, but if you look at the upcoming ufc cards there are a few more 265 fighters debuting in the next 2-3 events

Name 5 solid guys who would fight in a SHW division that you all would think is competitive and legit.

now that my friend will be the fight card of the century.. throw in a now obese kimbo... use the porn industry as your sponsors.. maybe through in steve mazagatti as ref..tito as your promoter and announcer..
and i honestly cant see how this card would not have the highest pay-per view buys..

p.s. im sure we can convince tank abbott to eat a couple of burgers to make the weight...

The heavyweight division is way to thin to be cutting it up. I would like to see FW in the UFC at some point, but i don't want MORE weight classes added because it will become like boxing where none of the top guys fight each other because they all have their own divisions and you end up with 4 or 5 weight Champions too.

If you don't like the idea of fighting 265 lbs monsters either bulk up or slim your ass down to 205. It is the HW division for a reason, I know people moan that it is the only division where you could give up 40lbs on your opposition but adding another division opens the floodgates and then before we know it there are 14 weight classes, not good.
