Yeah, but Penn held his own against GSP in Canada vs USA. Penn is real good, maybe better then both. They are just much stronger than him. All set aside, GO GEORGES!!!

I think that BJ Penn is a great fighter

Hes much better than Matt Hughes...I wish he would have RNC him again. But now people will see that GSP is the best WW. Penn is 2nd best...and very close to GSP...I want to see a rematch between them.

But 1 thing is for sure...BJ Penn is a lot better than Hughes.

IMHO

Penn is unquestionably the best 170pder and under.

The problem is his conditioning. He picked apart the 2 best WWs like they were amateurs when he was running at full steam. His striking pwns both and he's BJJ just puts them to shame. If he had their cardio training there wouldn't be a fighter that could touch him.

GSP and Hughes are pretty close hence why this weekend is going to be sick. Realistically I can't give either guy the CLEAR advantage. Hughes has retard strength in the GNP and GSP is just an amazing all around fighter whos so young and continues to develop (which is unbelieable for his age). I think that GSP is freakishly talented and starting this weekend he will begin his reign as the greatest WW champ but we'll see.

GSP is also pretty darn close to Matt's strength. Some might say he's even stronger...Technically, GSP is a better fighter, but the experience and mental strength might prevail (Matt). GSP will be better than Hughes ever was, maybe in a couple of years but he will be. Just wait.

i think it's little to pre mature to be calling GSP the best WW before he has even won the belt. As good as GSP is, he is 2nd next to Matt. People said BJ would kill matt but look what happened. For all we know GSP's leg could fall off in the 3rd round. Just wait 5 days and you can say who is really the best.

I watched the show last night and I have more respect for Hughes now than before. I know on this site I am not with the majority. I am not a GSP nuthugger. I don't care. I repsect him for who he is. If you think he is cocky, then good. He has every right to be. Most fo the time, it seems like he is being more honest than most people like to admit. he says things in interviews that all the other guys only say behind the cameras.

Too many people assume they know things. They assume they know Matt pointed at GSP just because the clips make it look that way. To me, it looked like Matt went to the fence and pointed to someone like a family member. To each his own. Obviously, Matt is one hell of a fighter. So is GSP. Matt would not be champion if he wasn't. You can say all you want about Penn destroying him the first 2 rounds, but none of that matters. Matt obviously is a great fighter to be able to pull through all of that. Would a lesser fighter held up to Bj that long? I doubt it. But, you never know.

I've lost no respect for either Hughes or GSP. They ***** about eachother to sell more tickets. People get hyped up about what might happen in the fight because of what been said. *****ing = More tickets = More money = Better shows = More fans

I watched the show last night as well and I lost respect for him even more. I was always a huge fan of Hughes, Hell, he was my favorite for a long time. But after the last few fights and interviews, he's not that good ol' country boy anymore. He thinks that he is the best in the world, and even if he is he should let others think that and always be trying to get better.

Two things that I noticed on last night's All Access.

One, Matt Hughes will plug ANYONE. Every time that he had something to say it was how good the shakes taste or how wonderful the gym (he used by name) was. It was kind of sickening. I would like it if these shows would focus more on the training and not just a long infomercial.

Two, Matt Hughes is a PLAYA!!! Did you see the way he would look at Rachelle's ass every time she turned around? How he had her sitting on his lap a few times? Have you ever seen another fighter act like that? He thinks that the world is his to do with as he wishes.

I hope that GSP kicks the s**t out of him. It will be a close fight and Matt has proven that he can overcome almost anything. Still I want GSP to knock him down a few notches.

I think that GSP is totally stronger than Matt Hughes. He was throwing Hughes around in their last fight.

He will do it again
