But thats not to put tanner out because he has good enough takedowns in my opinion to take silva down eventually and good enough standup not to get knocked out in the first minute or two if he fights defensively. If tanner gets top position he can rain down those punches and elbows. His ground and pound is the one weapon he has against silva, silva may not have ever faced anyone with as good of gnp as tanner but hes fought guys who are better on the ground and survived.
Yeah, I agree, this one wouldn't even be close. Everyone has a puncher's chance but Tanner is a "B" level fighter who has always had trouble with his standup. His ground and pound is OK but Silva is a guy with a BJJ black belt and he's not going to be manhandled the way L'Oiseau, Baroni and Terrell were. Bad move for Tanner

ChuteBox should just adopt Denis Kang and send him to UFC.

I've always been a HUGE evan tanner fan, in and out of the ring, he treats people with such respect that you don't see anymore. Hell he's even talked to me twice and given me fighting advice on going pro, how many big fighters you think would do that?

I think Evans got a good chance at silva just because i believe his clinch(sp?) is great, he has an amazing Greco Clinch. Plus he has a heart like Ken Shamrock, the guy doesn't quit (shows in the ref stoppages).

Personally I'm not a big Tanner fan or anything but the guy is a class act if you ask me. I'd like to see him come back and beat up on some opponents. Especially since alot of people doubt him. I think he should be taken a little more seriously
