Yea I actually made more of that post where I posted those three but I deleted it because it didn't make sense. LHW doesn't have really any unless you call Lyoto, Thiago, Shogun, or Forrest submission guys.

I actually think in the near future submission experts will become the more dominant fighters. We already have Maia in the UFC and Jacare fighting in DREAM. Then you have Andre Galvao and Marcelo Garcia in the same tournament (insane). The Miller brothers aren't exactly on the same level BJJ wise (not even close), but they are both young guys who are more evolved grapplers compared to all the wrestlers out there who only GnP and never look for submissions. Even Xande is fighting in MMA right now and even though I don't think he will make that big of an impact in MMA, it does show that more and more BJJ experts are adapting their games to MMA. I think the newer generation of pure grapplers is going to make a huge impact in MMA.

I think there is serious room in the ufc for bjj guys to make some damage but it is a shame that there hasn't been many subs of the late because i love subs not only in fighting but the sandwiches also.

Favourite Fighters:

1) Nick Diaz
2) Fedor Emelianenko
3) Chuck Liddell
4) Forrest Griffin
5) Tyson Griffin

Yes. I've seen people in the street wearing trousers, so it's not outlandish for fighters to wear them.

I believe that the average fan is partly responsible for the lack of submissions artists in the UFC today. The fighter's are aware of that their paycheck will be bigger if they can bring in a greater crowd. And I believe that the fighter's are under the impression that a good stand up war is more exciting to the fans, than a mind blowing submission. Therefore quite a few fighter's who are capable of doing good on the ground via submission may choose to stand instead. Just think about Jorge Gurgel who prefered to stay on his feet and loose rather than taking the fights to the ground and possibly pull of a few wins.

Suvaco I agree if these guys end up in the UFC then submissions will make a big return. Marcelo, Jacare, Galvao, and Xande I actually think Xande will make a huge impact in MMA.

And yea while the Miller Brothers aren't that level guys like Hazelett, Diaz, the Miller Bro's, and some others coming up.

Schafer is barely a legit UFC HW if he beats a solid LHW I'll add him but submitting Houston and Mendes two of the worst ground fighters in modern UFC.

Those aren't the only two subs on his resume. He's a legit black belt.

i think it has to do with the fact that fighters are learning a high level of submission defense, making it quite difficult to get one..

however, with people like Gonzaga, Nog.. and even Mir still around going for submissions, there will be a lot of submissions still to be had..

also, with people like Maia and Vinny on the way up.. submissions will still be around for a long time..

Shogun is my homeboy.
