Thomas- Ready for Title Shot

Din Thomas thinks he is ready for a Title Shot against Sean Sherk.
Considering he just came off a show that was offering a shot at the Title and he could not get it done there, what makes him or anyone think he can get it done against tuffer competition. His recent victory over Rich Clementi is nothing to get his hopes up over. He was beaten by Lyttle on the Tuff show not long ago. He spent three rounds running from Matt Serra where he won a decision that was questionable. He felt that going to the matt with Serra would be a mistake. What will he do when Sherk grabs him and takes him down. I guess no one has thought of the other fighters in the L/W division. Lets start with Edwards, Hominick, Stevenson, Neer and BJ if he feels like it. I found it hard to believe Rogan would even ask Thomas about fighting Sherk. This goof Thomas then starts running his mouth saying he is ready now. The only thing he is ready for would be getting pimp slapped by half of the L/W division.

The mindset of every fighter should be world title shot. If not...get out of the game.

I see where you're coming from and I'm glad that Din has that mindset but I have to admit I did feel a little embarrassed for him when he started calling out Sherk. It's good to see a new face in the LW division and its clearly where he should be but even some people need to earn the right to even think about a call-out, and getting passed Rich Clemente is nothing to brag about. I think he just let the adrenaline get to him, I'm sure when he watched the actual fight he was thinking a little different because there was nothing spectacular about it. He's got some work to do and some respect to regain, I think he'd have a good fight with someone like Spencer Fisher.

Thats a complete joke, he shouldn't even be thinking about a title or anything else but working on getting some more wins on his record.

I was rooting for Din all throughout the show. And have seen many fights of his in Pride/Ufc. It's good that his mind is set on high goals but at this point I don't think the title is attainable for him.

To be honest, other then BJ Penn(supposably going down to 155) and Sherk, none of the other LW fighters are that impressive.
Joe Stevenson, Kenny Florian, Jens Pulver(used to be good), yvess edwards. And Sherk is flat out boring. Din is as good as any of these guys.

Who's Din supposed to call out, Joe Stevenson?

I knew someone would make a thread about this. If you pay close attention, Joe Rogan eggs him on to call out Sherk. It's not like Din called out Sherk on his own will. If Rogan didn't ask him about it, he might not have even mentioned it. He was talking about something completely different and then Joe asks if he's ready for Sherk. What do you want him to say? Besides that he's got just as good a chance as anyone else. He is not the same fighter at 170 as he is at 155.

LW division is young, most of these guys got beat at 170 and are trying to establish themselves at 155.

BJ will dominate if he moves down.
