When you die, its worse then losing a limb.

Admittedly, its probably not funny enough to make you spew your coffee on your keyboard but whoever wrote that (and the whole paragraph it is in, really) is an oaf.

The accident itself is not funny at all and that is why I am excited to see him back in the shape he is in.

This is a must win for Vera too, because if he wins he probably will get a title shot sometime in 07'.

Stop comparing Mir to BJ. BJ is a top 10 all time fighter, and Mir is a guy who never lived up to his potential. Mir has to prove himself, BJ on the other hand already has.
Just because you can find one difference between BJ and Frank doesn't mean they don't have other similarities. Calm down about that, it's not the point of the thread.

But I agree, it is a must win for Vera also. That's why this is gonna be such a good fight. It's more of a must win for Frank than Vera though. Vera has plenty more chances to get a title shot, this is kind of a make-or-break situation for Mir. His UFC career depends on this one performance so he is gonna give it his all.

I agree but that sux. He is obviously back in the shape he needed to be in before coming back so if he loses tonite I would like to see him get another chance. I am sure his last two fights would have been better if he were in the shape we are going to see tonite.

Yea definately, Dana better give him another chance just because of all the weight he has lost and as long as he doesn't have a completely horrible performance I think he deserves another chance.

Blimey!

Last time i saw Mr Mir fight he had a set of ***** tits.

Hat's off to him for improving his conditioning. Hopefully he hasn't gone down the Stephan Bonnar route to get there.

Ive always been huge on Mir, and I stood by him when he was fat and out of shape. I was hoping he didnt end up like Ricco Rodriguez lol and clearly he didnt want that to happen either. Hes in tip top shape, and its going to be a hell of a war v/ Vera.

Im not counting mir out at all. i just think this fight is a bad matchup for him. I think vera will dominate pretty heavily. just a bad matchup for mir.

Agree but I think it is just as bad a matchup for Vera. He is fighting a guy that is stronger, 20 lbs heavier, and IMO very very smart. Even if Vera knocks Mir down with a strike he better not rush in or he might get caught in something. Also, in a matter of hours, the line has shifted on Mir, from +250 to +205......I have never seen a line shift that much that quickly.

Here's why I think it is a worse matchup for Vera

1.) Mir is more motivated right now than he has ever been in his life I'm sure

2.) Mir is Vera's idol and I think that may play a factor in Vera's mind

3.) Mir is better than Vera lol
