I agree, the only weight classes that should be added are the remaining weights in the WEC.

No, no, God no. No more weight classes. I'm 100% with Dana, there are way too many divisions in boxing. Combine that with there being dozens of promotions and there are about 400 belts available in boxing and winning one means next to nothing.

I'm against a new division between lhw and hw simply because the ufc (and the rest of the world imo) does not have the fighters to make all 3 divisions (lhw, the new division and hw) competitive.

I don't believe he's looking for sympathy, but i think randy thinks he has a better shot at hw rather than lhw, which i agree. Lets be honest we all know he wouldn't be successful in lhw with all the great strikers in lhw like rashad, machida, rampage, jardine, silva, hendo, franklin, wandy, forrest and so on. While in the hw, it looks to be wide open.

Why does everyone jump on the fallacious slippery slope argument and assume that adding any more weight classes will necessarily lead to a boxing-esque situation?

This is always an issue. I would like to see the one added at heavyweight but that has already been said and argued over many times. But seriously 60lbs between fighters is b.s. when all the other weight classed only get 15lbs.

I agree with the majority in that there's no point diluting the existing weight classes, although some sort of super-heavyweight category wouldn't be too bad e.g 250lbs and upwards or something, but in reality the system in place now works well.

I keep trying to make people realize that if somebody walks around at 206 pounds he doesnt fight at HW, hell he doesnt even fight at LHW but rather most likely MW, it isnt a 60 pound weight diffrence that just happens to be where the cut off is, realistically even the smallest of HW's weight in over 220 pounds heck people dont realize Forrest Griffen is a huge LHW and probably walks around well over 225 pounds, The weight diffrence as far as a ratio isnt that much diffrent between somebody like Randy Couture and Shane Carwin than it was between BJ Penn and GSP and alot less people felt size played a role in that fight (I do but thats another argument)
