against his sparring partners."

(from the UFC 97 preview in the ufc.com website.)

Wow, that's weird. I never heard about it.

I'm sure they're just hyping up the fight.

Im sure its true, I think Silva was frustrated in the fight because it wasnt the fight he was expecting and then with the really anticlamactic ending.

Of course it's true. Why would he lie about that? Ive actually heard about fighters fighting extra rounds in the locker room if their fights dont go the distance just to get the feel of having fought a full fight for cardio/conditioning purposes.

I don't see what it would accomplish. I mean, KO'ing your partner's isn't going to change anything.

Didn't he do the same after ko'ing Irvins? I think he just had a lot of energy left and needed to let either frustration for not fighting the way he normally does, or he just had a lot left in in tank.

He does this after every fight that doesn't go the distance. He says he trains for 5 rounds and it is important to finish those 5 rounds weather the fight went that long or not. He said this in an interview after the fight.

Yeah i actually posted this in one of the many threads after the fight....They had some footage of it on UFC the next day and if you go back and watch the post fight Press conference he actually talks about it saying he does this quite a bit since he trains for a 5 round fight and most of his fights don't go that long that he needs to spar in the back after wards to calm down and get rid of all the energy....

Sorry yorT.....Didnt see your post B4 i put this up

Chances make Champion's....Champion's take chances
