UFC make Koscheck and Taylor bout official for UFC 98 and 99

The UFC has officially announced that welterweight fighters Josh Koscheck and Chris Wilson are set to faceoff at UFC 98, which will take place on May 23 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The announcement was made moments ago on the official UFC website.

UFC veteran, Koscheck (12-4) will be fighting for the forth time in seven months when he steps into the octagon with MMA veteran Wilson (14-5). He was last seen in action losing to Paulo Thiago by a first-round TKO, at UFC 95 in February. Koscheck has gone 3-2 in his past five bouts.

Meanwhile, Wilson is also returning from a loss to John Howard at UFC 94 in January. The split decision defeat has caused him to go 5-2 in his past seven bouts.

In addition, Paul Taylor vs. Peter Sobotta has been confirmed for UFC 99 on June 13 at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany.

Koscheck might as well fight every week at this pace. He seems to have no long term game plan in terms of earning a title shot. I know UFC purses suck a$$, but he's going to have to slow down or else he's going to get seriously hurt.

I agree, he is going to come up with an injury pretty soon. I'm surprised he didn't get a longer medical suspension after getting laid out by Thiago. It appears he has no confidence in himself to beat the top fighters (GSP, Alves) in the division.

Wilson's no joke. If Koscheck comes out playing kickboxer again, Wilson will punish him for it.

Me, too. Makes you wonder what his plan is.

I really like Koscheck, but he seems to be losing momentum. I don't get why such and awesome wrestler stays away from wrestling. I know he wants to work on his stand up, but working on that standup, just cost him his last fight. He should have had that guy down and GnP'd out a victory like he did with Lytle.

Why do you say he has no confidence? He took the fight with Alves on super short notice, and went the distance with St Pierre. Seems he's coming off a questionable TKO and wants to redeem himself and go back into the title contention picture quickly

The longer he sits on the sideline, that TKO is going to eat away at him. It's the best thing to just get back in there to get the last fight off his mind.
