However, if GSP keeps it standing or can get on top before Diego takes him down, then GSP wins via KO or submission. Don't like the match up for GSP though. I think Hughes would have a better chance at beating Diego. Yes, I realize this sounds dumb cuz GSP just killed Matt, but Matt is a better offensive wrestler than GSP and would match up better with Diego!
Diego has to go through gsp's take down def. first my friend. Let not for get gsp's got some of the best take down and groud def. in the bizness

The fitght would be awesome but DIego has to earn it first.

Ya I do think Diego is the bigger man. Look how thick Diego is in the chest and trunk of his body. GSP is slimer around the chest. I am a GSP fan, and I want him to win if he faces Diego, but I think it it is a bad match up for him, and you can't tell me that he looks thicker than Diego, can you?

im guessing that's a joke. he was thoroughly unimpressive against christ lytle in the finally. showed some heart, but NO stand up skill and only decent takedowns. good jiujitsu. he would have stood no chance against hughes, and very little chance against gsp.

Ok, he's thicker through the chest, I dunno. But Georges isn't giving up strength to anyone at 170.

So far nobody has GNP'd Georges so it's hard to say if he can handle it. We have seen Georges power though Karo and Trigg. He won't give up position easy.

PLus wev'e hardly seen GSP work out of his guard. He might be solid.

Plus whenever GSP screws something up, he just powers his way out of it ... this was almost as devastating a loss as Franklin suffered against Silva

Obviously I agree that Hughes is a better wrestler than Diego, but did you actually watch the fight or are you talking with your head up your ass? Hughes tried twice to get GSP down, and the rest of the time he decided that he would strike with GSP. I have no idea why Hughes though he could stand with GSP. So saying that Hughes couldn't get him down as if he tried a hundred times is totally inaccurate. If Hughes stuck to the same gameplan as his first fight (take GSP down) then after numerous attempts I am sure he would be successful. So why you ask would Diego be able to take GSP down? Because Diego will be smarter and look back and see that if you actaully take GSP down, like Hughes did in the first fight then you will have more success.

And btw I am a GSP fan, and I am Canadian and I was very proud to see him win. I'm not defending Matt, actually after his recent comments I am actually starting to dislike him, but I still think Hughes is a great fighter and deserves respect. Next time he won't be so dumb as to stand with GSP.

I like Diego but he's not ready to fight GSP. I also hate to pull a GSP here but the Caro fight didn't impress me haha. Caro's career is quickly hitting the downward spiral.

ok so now that we agree on something. I too think GSP has great power, and would love to see him beat Diego, but Diego is relentless in his attach just like GSP and Diego will be no cake walk.

Diego is going to put up an awesome fight against GSP. He throws opponents off their timing. Diego's striking is not as good as GSP but it is better then Hughes's and until I see someone take it to Diego I am not going to count him out. Same goes for Jon Fitch.
