Monson has the heart of a lion!!!

Despite losing, Monson really earned a lot of respect for his performance ... the guy boxed just about 4 full rounds with a guy who was a foot taller with a 10 inch reach advantage ... and he had a killer mouse under his eye blocking part of his vision ... that damn Tim Sylvia always finds a way to win, maybe he's better than a lot of people give him credit for!

He certainly gain respect from me. He held his own boxing with a giant. This dosent make him any less of a fighter the weight and heigh diffrence was just too much for monson. You really cant blame him. He a tough SOB he proved himself even in defeat.

Hell yeah, although I think Monson is a better wrestler than showcased tonite, he definitely earned my respect on his feet.

You can tell that the guys really trained smart with their game plans ... I think Tim worked extra hard on take down defence and Monson worked on his boxing ... that dude is one bad ass, and can you believe he is living out of a gym, doesn't even have an apartment!

Jeff Monson never gave up and never quit. It was a long shot of him even getting the takedown, but he got it! He got a few if I recall. I loved that fight, I know many people found it boring but I found it to be Monson's struggle to get Tim down and Tim's struggle to keep sprawling and to not go to the ground with Jeff Monson. When Tim Sylvia did the triangle choke, americana, and north/south choke I almost fainted! I was in shock, I thought I'd NEVER see that out of Tim Sylvia.
