Hopefully Matt knows it's time to quit

I know some of you will jump on me for saying this, but I think it's pretty clear that Hughes won't be champ again. I would say 9 times out of 10 you cannot get dominated that badly and come back victorious. GSP made Hughes look like one of the amateur contestants on TUF 1-3 and I'm convinced there is just a completely marked difference in the talent levels between the two fighters. Not only that, Hughes should never have won against BJ who was seriously injured. I think Matt was a great champ, a bit too cocky at times, he probably has a few more fights in him but just can't see him being a champ again. I just hope he doesn't hang around as long as Shamrock did because that really blemishes his star

hey man I understand where you are coming from but it was just 1 match. You know what they say if you get knocked out of the ring get back in.

I agree with American, it was just one fight! Everybody has those bad fights once in awhile in thier career! Besides, the man is 33! He still has three maybe five years left!

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

I understand what you're saying and of course the winning boy's attitude is to never quit, but sometimes you just have to accept reality ... GSP is way ahead of Hughes now in terms of overall ability .. of course there should be a rubber match just to put all of it to rest, but you seldom see a guy get beat that badly and come back and win ... I just would hate to see a great champ like Hughes stick around too long because his time is past

Randy knew exactly when to quit ... that would be a perfect exit for Hughes

Hopefully before Matt Hughes retires we get to see Matt Hughes vs B.J. Penn 3 and Matt Hughes vs Georges St. Pierre 3! I honestly think B.J. Penn and Georges St. Pierre would win both of those matches and then face each other once again.

Not time for him to quit just yet. He should have the rematch, if he gets dominated again then yes it is time to quit...no shame in getting beaten by the best man (except at weddings).
