This is one of the main reasons Hughes couldn't get GSP down. George hurt Matt's legs and limited his explosiveness. The leg kicks, along with Hughes' poor gameplan and GSP's excellent sprawling and grappling, where the three main factors in the victory.
That follow through leg kick was great. Reminded me of when GSP did it to BJ penn, and penn efortless skipped with both legs, where as hughes got put to the matt.

My Top 5

(0. Fedor)
1. Cro Cop
2. GSP
3. Mauricio RuA
4. Quinton Jackson
5. BJ Penn

haha that was really funny, he put quite a big emphasis on the "BOOM", ohhh french canadians. What a great fight, I was so happy Georges won, excellent skills displayed, and yah...those leg kicks were deadly. Made hughes look like it was his debut.

For those of you interested, half way down this page is a demo of how the femoral nerve can be injured and cause the leg to give way (The femoral nerve supplies the quadricep muscle group) with an inner thigh kick similar to what GSP struck Hughes with: - The Old Okinawan Karate Toe Kick: Part 1- Introduction & Execution

Yeah those leg kicks must have really hurt, it looked like one of the ones on the outer thigh really did some damage because matt was limping pretty badly.
