Can you Candian guys honestly look in the mirror & say the Canadian fans wouldn't boo Hughes if Hughes v GSP 3 were held in Montreal? Come on now, let's keep it real. Every country is going to have nationalist fans....well, except Japan maybe...lol

I don't hate Americans!

I just want to clarify that I didn't say anything about American fans - I am talking faux-fans in general and their lack of respect for the fighters. Sure, boo during a fight if they do something illegal or are not fighting up to their standard but booing when they come in the ring... booing when they are accepting their win - SHAME ON THOSE PEOPLE (in any country!).

I can't speak for all canadians, but I wouldn't boo any fighter or sports team.

And I wasn't hating on Yanks, I was stating that this appeared to be the reason for them booing some of the fighters, like GSP and the Japanese guy in the first bout.

And, as a I stated in the first post. I went to a KOTC match that was billed as a USA vs Canada tournament, held here in British Columbia, and there was no booing at all. The US fighters got cheered almost as loud as the canadians and got cheered loudly when one dude KO'ed a Canadian with an awesome flying knee.

Because this is not just another sport, people put the life on the line's doing this stuff, its like when people hate police, im sure there is a bad cop from time to time but to hate all police that are out there keeping you safe is wrong.

A fighter should be respected for stepping inthe ring period, i dont really care how the fight goes you still deserve respect.

and yeah, thats a true athlete right there!

Is there actually some people trying to convince any non-americans that the Americans are not the greatest patriots? have u ever heard any country chant their country's name EVERYTIME an american faces a non-american?

anyways, the US crowd has always been the loudest(some might say less respectful) in a lot of international sport, like tennis for example. Everytime, at the US open, people cant seem to shut up when the players are serving. Same for golf, When it got a bit more popular(when tiger woods started to dominate). So its not the mma fans of the UFC that are ignorant or "drunk", its in the culture(not talking about being ignorant but being loud).

I would and I'm sure alot of others would too. Hell, alot of you american fellas would probablly boo Hughes too. But in all honesty booing and cheering is part of sports. If it wasn't you might as well be attending the ballet or something. It's competition and competition brings out raw emotion. I don't think it's a big deal, let the fighters have the final say in the octagan.

They would boo Hughes, and that's just ghey. We'd be stooping down to that level. National pride is one thing but disrespecting the other for the sake of country A vs country B is retarded. It happens here and any other sports and I still hate it.
