Shockwave is easily better. I think that UFC 65 had a way better card than UFC 66, but neither compare to Shockwave seeing how they have all 4 champions fighting plus some of the other best figthers in the world. I cant wait to see the matchups especially who Fedor is facing.

And those MMAweekly rankings are alright. They got the heavyweight division close to what i would make it, there middleweight rankings are brutal though looks like Ray charles made them. Nobody is going to agree with all of them though.

I just checked out those MMAWeekly rankings out and I agree with a lot of them (My heavyweight top 5 is identical), but I have issues with their Middleweight rankings. Matt Linland at #1 and Dan Henderson at #6? Also Tito Ortiz at #7? I know the Forrest Griffin fight could have easily gone to Forrest, but he should be in the top 5.

On Topic: Shockwave card will easily be better.

I would not pay more than 10 bucks for UFC 66. I bought the event couple of days ago, but there really is no quality of the upcoming card. Shockwave's timing is a piss-off but I'll watch it the next day...

According to MMA Weekly the only fight that is for sure so far is Mark Hunt vs Fedor -- wow what a great match up Mark Hunt will slay him.

Now here we have two of probably the most anticipated Mixed Martial Arts cards in the history of MMA. I was just curious what everyones thoughts were on which card you think will be the most entertaining..Personally I think Prides card blows the UFC's out of the water, so far they have 12 of the biggest names in Pride (and the world. I have never been more excited for a mma card in my life. UFC 66's is defintly one of the UFC's most anticipated cards, and I'm sure it will be great, but from my point of view it can hardly compare to Pride's. What do you guys think?

(Keep in mind although the majority of these cards are finalized they are still under the "rumour" section at mmaweekly)

Main Card Bouts:
-Chuck Liddell (#1 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Tito Ortiz (#7 Light Heavyweight)*
-Andrei Arlovski (#6 Heavyweight)* vs. Marcio "Pe de Pano" Cruz
-Forrest Griffin vs. Keith Jardine
-Michael Bisping vs. Eric Schafer
-Chris Leben vs. Jason MacDonald

Preliminary Bouts:
-Thiago Alves vs. Tony DeSouza
-Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Carmelo Marrero
-Anthony Perosh vs. Christian Wellisch
-Yushin Okami vs. TBA

-Fedor Emelianenko (#1 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. TBA
-Takanori Gomi (#1 Lightweight)* vs. TBA
-Mirko Cro Cop (#2 Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (#2 Light Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Josh Barnett (#3 Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Wanderlei Silva (#3 Light Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (#4 Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Ricardo Arona (#4 Light Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Dan Henderson (#7 Middleweight)* vs. TBA
-Mark Hunt (#9 Heavyweight)* vs. TBA
-Hidehiko Yoshida vs. TBA
-Kazuyuki Fujita vs. TBA
That TBA guy must be one HELL of a fighter!

He'll outdo the days of old in the ufc with 4 fights in one night

That is an awesome Pride card. We can only hope that someday these two organizations will mingle more.

First off, I agree with the MMA Weekly rankings because they have the #1 ranking system in the world, IMO . You might not agree with the rankings but thats because we, as fans, tend to favor certain fighters more. If it were up to me, Tim Sylvia wouldn't even be Top 10, champion or no champion. It takes a lot of work to get into the Top 10 rankings of any division and it has nothing to do with your current record, it is based on your current ranking, your win percentage, your opponent, your opponents current raking and your opponents win percentage. Add that all up and whether you like it or not Matt Lindland is #1 and Tito Ortiz is #7. Matt keeps fighting and winning, helpin his win percentage while Ortiz keeps pounding Shamrocks face and will be at the bottom of the Top 10 unless he beats someone who is ranked higher than him.

As for the card, Shockwave easily beats UFC 66. It isn't piss poor timing on Prides part because the Shockwave PPV is usually aired on NYE. Just order it and record, you will already know who won because of the time difference of Japan and the US.

haha , that made me laugh, good call

Erik how many girlfriends EVER want to watch a Pride/UFC event??? haha I know mine would defintly perfer not too.

Organik thanks for updating the Shockwave card, now that is one amazing line up. I wonder how much all these fighters got paid together....but the revenue should be huge for a card like this.

I know for some people it's too bad that it's on New Years eve, but doesn't make a difference for me because even if a Pride card was on the 30th I wouldn't be watching it cuz none of my friends have gotten out of the UFC stage yet. And sorry I don't stay in on weekend nights by myself and watch MMA events, i guess I'm not a total "hardcore" fan I'll be out new years for sure but I'll defintly be watching Shockwave the next day, wow I can't wait.
But who says you can't count down the new year AND watch some of the greatest fighters in world throw down at the same time???
