All Sylvia had to do was be just a LITTLE aggressive and he could have KOed Monson any time he felt the need. He could have ended that fight at any point he chose that night. But he chose not to, I think he is a cheap fighter. I use the term "fighter" loosely. Because his best skill consists of putting his arm out at the right time and backing up. He has become a disgrace to the UFC, he used to be exciting. Now he's just a big baby.

Most exciting fights are a poduct of well matched styles. Every AA v Tim fight was exciting because they are both dangerous strikers. Usually the worst fights are ground v striker fights, because the threat of the shoot makes the striker tentative and the ground fighter is leery about mixing it up standing. Unfortunately, a lot of the HW's are ground fighters in the UFC because they just are not great MMA fighters. If you look at the Pride HW division it is carrying about 5 or 6 premier strikers who are fighting each other on a regular basis.

Sylvia's boring fights are more a product of bad matchups more than anything. If he gets too aggressive then he gets caught and we see his arm snapped again or something similar. Vera should provide Tim the opportunity for an exciting fight, but one thing nobody is taking into account is that EVERY fight is exciting for the fighters who are in them. Their only concern is to get the W, period.

man if i was this goof i would start paying attention to whats going on around me ufc fans is not that educated when it comes to mma but there are sum hardcore mma addicts out the on forums discussing shit like how sorry TS is. TS should train his 6'8" dumbass off and make his next fight more eye pleasing if there no fans tell me where is he gonna get the money from? im sure dana whiteboy can easily throw a dart at any hw fighters from pride and change the hw divison just like that and im not talking about a top talent like fedor, crocop, big nog,or JB, im talking about a ok fighter sum1 like fedors lil brother alexander.e if TS see AE in the cage across from him and big john in the middle TIM SYLVIA will shit on himself. bottom line NO FANS NO MONEY, dont mean a thing if you just have the belt prove it or loose it

The bad thing about Tim Sylvia is that we all know he can show better. When I watch his fight with Ricco Rodriguez, I am still amazed at the raw power and fire the guy had in that fight. He has shown himself to be exciting before, and someone already said that he has not been matched with very exciting counterparts. I would like to see how Tim would show if he were to fight against a top hw. We wouldn't even need to see a top Pride heavy. Sergei Kharitonov would be an excellent challenge for Tim. Tim has the capability to show better even if he hasn't in the past few years.

The fight was exciting until the 5th round. When you have the fight rapped up you are supposed to stay away in the last round. Just ask Liakhovich!

If I was Tim I would keep winning however I could. The matchups are not his fault and will be corrected. How much money did Tank Abbott win this year? He is an exciting fighter isn't he?

Was it boring when Frank Mir broke his arm? Or when AA rocked him then submitted him? Or when AA rocked him then charged in and got KTFO in Part II? Or when Monson took Tim down in the 3rd (I was yelling and out of my seat)? Tim has had 1 boring fight and 1 boring round.
