So Sanchez should have to fight Hughes/Penn, while Serra can beat Pete Spratt, Shonie Carter and Chris Lytle and get a title shot?

We need more contendars then just Hughes and Penn. People like Sanchez, Fitch, Diaz and Karo are all working their way to the belt, and I think I would like to see more title matches then just the top three.

How many guys did GSP fight before the re-match with Hughes??? Well, yep there's your answer Diego should get his shot at the title, he's worked his way to it.

Well I'm pretty sure now one agrees with the winners of a reality show getting title shots.
But anyways I like the idea of having more matchups instaed of the same 3 guys fighting eachother over and over again. WW is the deepest vision so they got to make use of all their talent.

GSP got his rematch because he obviously was teh #1 contender.

Just because I think Sanchez should fight Penn or Hughes first doesn't mean I agree with Serra getting a title shot, but he was at least in the UFC at some point I guess?

I think Sanchez should fight Penn or Hughes for his own good. He's not ready for GSP. You can all love him and say AWE HE'S UNDEFEATED AND GREAT, but no. His gNp isn't near Hughes, and his jiujitsu isn't near Penn's. He's going to have to prove he can take either of those guys before he gets to GSP, and for his own sake.

Here is more evidence why GSP got his shot (I'm not sure why somebody said that like GSP got an easy way to his rematch?)

Sanchez- last 3 fights, all unanimous decision (With the only contender-level fighter being Karo P)

GSP - since his loss to Hughes - Jason Miller DECISION , Frank Trigg SUBMISSION, Sean Sherk TKO, BJ Penn SPLIT DECISION. All 3 of those guys were the #1 contender at some point, two of which he actually finished.

I would love to see this fight, I have been saying for months that after GSP gets the belt I want to see Hughes and Sanchez fight for the #1 contender. It would probably be a good fight between two strong grapplers, however I think Hughes is just too strong and good for Diego. I don’t really have a problem with Sanchez but after his last fight he said he is the best WW in the world and I would love for Hughes to dominate him at what Diego usually does best and prove he is probably more like the 4th best. Diego is a good, strong fighter but I really don’t see him beating BJ, Hughes or GSP, I actually think he doesn’t have much of a chance at all against those three. I heard BJ is dropping back down to 155 though, any one else hear this?

I have heard about 5 different stories about BJ staying where he is or going to take over 155, so until I see him on UFC.com in a different division, I'm not assuming anything. Maybe he should though, his stamina is shot to hell.

I just checked his web site and he posted something on the 14th that says he is still committed to the WW division. I think dropping to LW would be a good move for him, he is a damn good WW and pretty much already dominated the LW division a few years ago(until a real close fight with Jens Pulver for the belt), right now he would probably march right through every one at 155. I’m sure Sherk would give him a damn good fight but BJ is just so well rounded.

Sorry we can get back to discussing Matt Hughes and Diego Sanchez now.

Diego just got called out all over the place from Koscheck. What a great fight. Two guys I can't stand, who can't stand each other.

I'll pass. Sanchez will probably get BJ next, while Hughes warms up against Karo or somebody. Hughes will be set up for their rubbermatch after St. Pierre/Serra as long as Hughes doesn't lose up to then. Don't think so? Look how fast Sylvia and AA 3 went down? What was that like one PPV break?
