I say hes OVERRATED because of threads all over here and sherdog saying hes the NEXT BIG THING BLAH BLAH BLAH

He hasnt impressed me by beating 7 tin cans and 1 true contender. Thats the same reason people went after me because I hyped up Bisping a bit.

Im not saying hes no good, just saying hes not what everyone makes him out to be.

And if hes the NEW FACE of the HW division?

SAD

7 Cans?? Assuerio Silva is no can. even though he has lost both of his ufc bouts. He went the distance w/ Silvia and in pride he had a split decision Aleksander Emelianenko. He is no scrub

Well Vera is kind of "overly hyped" I agree with that, and he shouldnt be compared with Chuck Liddell whos a top fighter in the UFC. he hasnt foughten enough great fighters to be considered the "new face" His win against Frank Mir was impressive but IN MY OPINION.. Frank Mir isnt what he used to be. thats my opinion though so dont attack me Mir fans. :P

I'd like to see Vera go up against Arlovski, it would be a good fight but i dont see Vera taking the Pitbull, heh.

I think he is a pretty good fighter, but definitely over rated. We haven't really seen him up against some really good competition yet. Mir was pretty good before the bike accident, but he's done now.

I do like watching Vera fight though. He could probably take Sylvia if he pressed the fight.

hmm.. not sure where u got off saying hughes should have won on paper. Hughes for the most part is very 1 dimensional, hes an exceptional grappler. GSP on the other hand is very well rounded, and has dominated nearly every round of every fight he has fought in. (exception of his submission by hughes, rnd 1 BJ penn) including some fighters that gave matt hughes problems. On paper GSP should have beaten hughes, and he did.

On PAPER Hughes was 44 and 4

That says odds are in Hughes favor... as they were on the bets placed here on the forum. Odds WERE in Hughes favor.

no he isnt, hes destroyed every single opponent the ufc has given him in devastating style. hes already destroyed two men one of which beat the current hw champ and one of which brought him to a decision. hes been very consistent in constantly destroying his opponents from day 1 in his mma career.

I have know idea how you can call someone over rated who hasnt lost a fight. I think Vera would destroy silvia but if aleks came he would definetly clean house.

Destroy is going a little far. Brandon hasn't fought anyone the size of Sylvia, and in my opinion it might be difficult for him to get used to that at first. He could be leaving himself open to shots he doesn't even know about, just because of the huge advantage Sylvia has with his height and reach.

I think it would be a pretty good back and forth fight. I like both of them quite a bit.
