Geroge St.Pierre received close to $500,000 with the bonuses.

This may have already been said but just so everyone knows, GSP didn't just make 80k or whatever it says on the first page. Article found at mmatoronto
Geroge St.Pierre received close to $500,000 with the bonuses plus a brand new Hummer from the Fertitti bros.

Since beating the american Matt Hughes Saturday night in Sacramento, California, George has been busy answering the phone.

New Ultimate Fighter Champion in the 170lbs division, St.Pierre is more popular than ever.

"My life completly changed suddenly" he said. "I receive congratulations everywhere, I am actually on cloud 9".

The athlete from St.Isidore, on the south shore (of Montreal), won by TKO 1 minute 25 seconds of the second round against Matt Hughes, in front of more than a 15300 crowd at Arco's Arena in Sacramento.

"In the first round, I gave him many kicks to the legs and I saw that it started to hurt him" he explained. "At one point, he ducked his head, and I took that opportunity to hit him in the neck. That is where he crumbled to the mat and that I jumped on him to finish him with hits and elbows."

It was the second time that Hughes (42-5) and St.Pierre faced each other. In 2004 in Atlantic City, Matt Hughes had the win over the Quebecois with an arm-bar.

A Hummer

From that victory, his 14th and only one loss, Geroge St.Pierre received close to $500,000 with the bonuses.

The UFC president Dana White et the millionaire brothers Frank and Lorenza Fertitta also gave him a Hummer truck.

"From now on, I will not have to worry about my finances", declared St.Pierre. "Everything exploded for me. I delivered the best fight of my career against my most formidable opponent. My retirement is now assured."

In Las Vegas in February

Over the next few days, St.Pierre will take the opportinuty to relax a bit before restarting training for his next bout (the first defense of his title), scheduled for February 3rd in Las vegas against Matt Sera from Long Island.

"I dont know him very much, but I know that he specializes on sumitting on the ground", he indicated. "I trust that I will prevail as I have many more skills than he does."

Awesome good thing he got bonuses. 80k is far to less. Looks like he made out pretty well. Good for him

Tim Sylvia 120 000 for the worst fight of the night. I can see how they pay chuck so much though... he is exciting fighter to watch and who doesnt like watchin him knock out. Instead of Tim Sylvia just throwing out jabs the whole fight. I guess Tim does bring in crowds though if you think about it cause everyone watched cause they want to see him lose.

Let me give you an "easy" analogy, let's say you buy some tickets for a raffle and you are lucky enough to win the first prize of 2 tickets to Chuck E Cheese and the second place winner got $100,000 dollars in cash and beautiful Royal Carribean Cruise and even better yet the third place guy gets 1 million in cash. Would you still say that was a good structured pay-out? I don't think so. The higher up the fight card the higher the pay and if you're a title contender you should be paid half of what the winner would make...plain & simple
the hell r u talking about chuck ee cheese is the shit
