Canadians are sporting freaks, and when it comes to supporting a French Canadian, Quebecers really band together. Just look at all of the support the F1 received when Villenuve came to town, and nobody gives a **** about F1 in Canada.
I think they'd have to promote the fight - just the same as they would any other - but considering they only have to eclipse an attendance of 10500 (which is close to what the UFC gets for most of its PPVs, maybe a little high actually) I think the UFC could host quite a successful event. Besides, it's not like their PPV revenues are going to drop just because the fight is held in Canada.
I'm from Manitoba and for $200 I'd get a round-trip flight, another $200 I'd get two nights in a hotel, and for an additional $100 I'd have more than enough for meals and taxi fare. Throw in $250 for a ticket and that's $750 for a UFC event that would likely cost me upwards of $1500 or $2000 if I were to go to Vegas.
I'm a happy boy!
