UFC Coming to Montreal? GSP Title Defense?

After the GSP/Hughes bout you can here one of the Zuffa boys telling GSP that they're going to bring a fight to Montreal, to which GSP replies "holy shit!" and spins around with his hands on his head.

Personally, I'd love to see it.

Any thoughts on this? Perhaps the UFC could even do 22000 for the event and make it one of the UFC's biggest events ever.

Yeah, if the UFC goes to Montreal, I am there. With GSP defending the title at home, there would be a huge crowd.

Montrealers, mixed with violence, booze and the women the city is known for...ya, it'll be pretty crazy. If the date is right I'm there

When the fight does come to Montreal they better renew Loiseaus contract. I think it would be awesome for him to fight out of his home as well, and im sure he would put on an exciting show!

Hopefully it's better than the last show he put on. If he fights the entire fight the way he fought the last 3 minutes of the 3rd round he probably beats Swick.

He was in GSP's corner for the Hughes bout...maybe that motivates him.

It would be awesome...but I hope they weren't just messing with GSP's head.

The thing I'm most concerned about, is UFC and Zuffa looking at the numbers. I mean American sporting events are typically huge events when you compare them to what we have here in Canada. I'm not sure how well they would do here. I think they would have to build GSP up to be just as a consistent champion as Matt Hughes wass before they bring UFC up north.

Canadians are sporting freaks, and when it comes to supporting a French Canadian, Quebecers really band together. Just look at all of the support the F1 received when Villenuve came to town, and nobody gives a **** about F1 in Canada.

I think they'd have to promote the fight - just the same as they would any other - but considering they only have to eclipse an attendance of 10500 (which is close to what the UFC gets for most of its PPVs, maybe a little high actually) I think the UFC could host quite a successful event. Besides, it's not like their PPV revenues are going to drop just because the fight is held in Canada.

I'm from Manitoba and for $200 I'd get a round-trip flight, another $200 I'd get two nights in a hotel, and for an additional $100 I'd have more than enough for meals and taxi fare. Throw in $250 for a ticket and that's $750 for a UFC event that would likely cost me upwards of $1500 or $2000 if I were to go to Vegas.

I'm a happy boy!

it would be soooooo ****ing huge!!!

I was in vegas at a bar watching the fight.
the bar was filled with canadians and the funny thing is, for the fuirst time ever, we had a guy from victoria bc, calgary, toronto (me) and some quebecers all partying together like a united country ... lol ... this would unite us once again ... lol ... for 1 night at least.

But that would be massive. MASSIVE

I would be front row without question (if I could afford and get myhands on tickets ... lol)
